Has anyone ever stayed here before?

Any comments appreciated on this resort and surrounding area.

Thanks!

I have stayed twice.Once in 2001 via priceline when it was the Doubletree Maingate and once a few weeks ago via Hotwire. The hotel is decent with two 7 story towers and one of the pools in a central courtyard. It is all interior corridors with parking around the towers and fairly convenient. The public areas are nice and the rooms nicely decorated and comfortable. The bathrooms are small with one sink in with the toilet and showertub. It is very close to Disney property and service was fine on both trips. I do have to say that since Renaissance has taken over it has not been kept up quite as nice. It was all clean but the "marble" floors were not polished and dull and things looked a hair unkempt. If you got this for a good price it is a great deal.

DD and I stayed here last June and I was quite happy with it. We got it for $35/night on Priceline and it was quite a deal at that rate. I really liked the convenience of the refridgerator and we used the coffe maker to heat water to make instant oatmeal. One pool is in the central courtyard, but there is another pool kind of around the one side and that is the one we used the most.

Our first room was very damp and after a bit I figured out that the A/C was not working. Called the front desk and they sent a bellman up to check the room. He came up, said oh, you need a new room, this is not right. Ran down, got a key and came back up to help us move our stuff. Very friendly and helpful.

Stopped by the front desk at a time when the gift shop was not open and asked if they knew if the shop would have a little mending kit as I needed a needle and thread. Told me I didn't need the shop and went in back to get me one of those little travel mending kits.

Very helpful staff, great stay.

We also stayed there last September and are staying again this October via $35 price from Price Line. We found it very nice and comfortable. The drawers are built in under the window (in our room anyway) which makes the room seem larger because you don't have the chest of drawers against one of the walls. They have a coffee pot and safe and the bathroom has what is called a "Garden" tub. This makes the bathroom a little small but it worked.

The staff is wonderful and very helpful with whatever we requested and there's a back road to the parks, which are printed out and given to you by the staff when you ask.

We never used the pool so I don't much about it. We did sit out there one evening and it was enjoyable.

The restaurant is expensive so we didn't eat any meals there but they do have a little snack bar for coffee and rolls, etc in the monrng. We didn't use any other times so I'm not sure what else they sell.

We enjoyed our stay there last year and I was pleased that we got it again this year.

Can someone post the star level for this hotel on Priceline please?

:D Thanks:D
