Went to both Remy and Palo last month.

Although Remy was good I do not think it was worth the difference with Palo. My lobster and langoustine was not very good (I have had much better). I did very much enjoy the Wagu beef, it may have been the best I have ever eaten.

I guess everyones tastes are different. I just prefer Palo espcially with the price difference.

We've enjoyed Palo very much and this time we tried Remy. Remy was absolutely different. It was more like Victoria and Alberts at WDW. We did the wine pairing and I don' t regret it. We tried some really great wine. My husband did the American Chef's menu and I did the French.
Next time, I would switch out my chicken for the Wagyu beef as it was absolutely delicious.

I wish they would do a wine and cheese tasting. I love cheese but by the time it came out I was stuffed. The cheeses were phenomenal.

We were seated around 7:15 for a 7pm reservation and we finished around 10:15. We took our time and we were not rushed at all. The restaurant was not crowded.

It was expensive. Our bill was $377 with the wine pairing and pear cocktail (yum!) without tip. It was sooooo worth it!

We would do it again and we will absolutely do Palo again.

Thanks for all the info on Remy! I've learned a lot. Quick price question, is it $75 per person to eat there? And then wine/drinks is on top of that, correct? Then the tip? Anything cost additional? I'm just asking for budget purposes. It's a lot of money, but DH and I would be willing to add it to the cruise cost if so many people say it's worth it. We spend a lot of our vacation budget on eating and drinking anyway

Remy is $75 per person to dine.
The wine pairing is $99 per person, this is optional.
You can order wine and other alcoholic drinks and pay for them.

I agree with you steves100, I pick Palo over Remy. Although Remy was good, it was the dining experience that stood out and not the food itself. Our server David was wonderful. But now that we've tried it I don't think we'll do it again. Our all time favorite is still the Palo Brunch!

We at at Palo and Remy this week. Palo was excellent...I could have eaten every single thing on the menu Katerina was an excellent server. It was formal but cozy and relaxing.

Remy was very upscale. There were a few hiccups in our experience, but not with the food. I ordered the Gout menu and my wife did a la carte. She wound up getting the langoustine dish twice when they got out of sync on us. No complaints on that. I just ordered a couple of glasses of wine instead of the $99 package. Food was very good, but not the best I've ever had. I've dined at some great restaurants around the world. Again, no complaints, but it doesn't compare to something like the French Laundry.

I'd say try Remy without hesitation and make your own decisions. Palo is a no brainer at $20 : YES.

We also dined at both Palo and Remy this week. I was the one that was hesitant about Remy just because of the expense. DH really wanted to try it so we did and both loved it. It was worth every penny and more for the food and the experience.

I have food allergies so I was limited in what dishes I could have but everything was absolutely delicious. Our meal took just over 3 hours and we honestly had to rush through dessert because we got a text from the kid's club telling us our youngest child wanted to be picked up.

Our server David was excellent. DH had 2 glasses of wine and we both enjoyed the Collette's cocktail. There was an automatic 15% gratuity added for the sommelier for the wine.

I wouldn't necessarily do Remy's every time we cruise but it is definitely worth doing once.

We love Palo especially the brunch and we are booked on the Fantasy next Dec. I was hesitating about Remy because of the price but after reading the posts I think we will give it a try. How much is the average tip on the $75? What is the usua percentage?

We just returned from the 11 Sep Dream cruise where we dined at both Palo and Remy. You can't go wrong with either choice, and we certainly will do both again. However, for overall ambience, quality of food, and exceptional service, Remy was the clear winner.

The portions are classically small which is a good thing. We wound up trying every single dish on the menu other than the cheese course, though we eschewed the wine pairing. Our table was window-side, and as it was a 6 p.m. seating, we had the setting sun as an added mood enhancer. There wasn't a single misstep in service, and our dishes were divine. A previous poster said that for $20, Palo was a no-brainer, and I agree. However, the same argument can be made for Remy, as well--it's a can't-miss culinary celebration at $75 per person.

We took Our 18 year old nephew, He loved the experience and ate duck!

We are going to be at WDW for a few days before our Christmas cruise this year and will be taking my parents to Victoria & Albert's for their first time. We have been to V&A a few times already and love our food and experience there each time. I see the menu at Remy was partly created by the chef at V&A and some of the dishes seem similar.

Is Remy pretty much the same as V&A in that it would be too much to do both? Has anyone done both on the same trip?

Is V&A a better deal at $125 a person and $60 for wine pairing (compared to the cost of Remy as a supplement, but I see you can get the Wagyu which has a supplement at V&A)? Or is the food at Remy more like the Queen Victoria's Dining Room at V&A?

Also can anyone tell me anything about the Gusteau Room?

We were told the Gusteau room was for private parties. There were people dining in there the night we were at Remy's. Our DS4 is a huge Ratatouille fan so our server told us we could bring him back up the next day during lunch time for him to see the Gusteau room since it is a replica of the restaurant from the movie.

DH took some pictures of the empty Gusteau room if anyone is interested.

We ate in the Gusteau room in March. I think it was because we had such a large group - I think it was 9 or 10. They had the tables arranged in a square in the middle of the room. Those who ordered the wine pairings were given a small pour of a wine that would accompany the course being served. I don't remember how many wines but I would think 5 at least. You could also ask for more if you wanted to. The dining room is absolutely stunning! Never have a seen a place so beautiful. They also have a private wine room with floor to ceiling racks of very pricey wines! Also gorgeous!

The chef selects a particular wine to pair with each course. Rather than guess which wine you feel will best complement a dish, the chef (and sommelier) have done the work for you. At Remy, the cost is $99 per person. We opted not to do the pairing, instead focusing on each and every dish they had.

We, too, enjoyed Palo, but as you say, it's not a fair comparison to Remy. Then again, Palo is less expensive so definitely worth the experience. But, Remy was exquisite. We did Palo on CC day with Remy the last night. We were just thrilled TS Maria had decided to swing north. Hope you had a great cruise!

sleepy jean - The experience and food at Remy is much like that at V&A's, though we've not done both in one trip. The ambience at V&A's is slightly more intimate, but the view from our window table at Remy at sunset was spectacular and more romantic. Food at both was exceptional, service at both topnotch, though I might give the edge to Remy. If you can take that much rich food in one trip, I say go for it.

Not being Concierge or even Castaway Club, when we booked Palo & Remy there was availability, but only late times available. We didn't even think about sunset. Our Palo res was for 8:30, but by the time we were seated, it was nearly 9, and very dark. The full-ish moon did present itself later in the evening, but you see more reflection from the room's lights in the windows than anything outside after dark.

We really lucked out for our Remy reservation. It was Nassau day, and the ship was in port until 2am (very unusual). We had a beautiful view of the island's evening lights, and since Remy (and Palo) are on the 12th deck, we were the highest thing on the island. It was very easy to imagine we were in Paris instead of on a Disney cruise ship.

Our server in Remy was Yannick, and he was amazing!! We also met a server from Denmark, and I wish I could remember her name. But she doesn't have Danish accent. She sounds like she's from my neck of the woods, East Tennessee. I asked her, are you really from Denmark? And she said yes, Denmark. I said, Denmark, Tennessee? And she laughed and said, no, North Carolina; her parents moved there when she was 14. Turns out, her town is about an hour from my home, and her parents now live in the town where I live. So that was a cool coincidence.
