Remy worth it at Chefs de France?

Keeping my fingers crossed because I just booked a 5:20 ressie for 10/14. I hope we get to see Remy! :goodvibes

I would recommend making a reservation for no later than 30 minutes before the start of his rounds because you have to be seated to see him. If Les Chefs is running late or you're in the process of being seated when he comes around he will not return to your table and you can't get up and go over to see him. The 5:20 round is also the last of the day so if you miss him, there won't be another chance to see him that evening.

I know, I thought about that but I don't want to eat too early either. Our original dinner ressie for this night was for 7:05 so 5:20 is already a lot earlier than I'd like. We are late eaters. So right now I'm thinking we'll just take our chances with 5:20 and if we see him fine, if not, we like this restaurant anyway. They always say to get to the restaurant 15 min. early for your ressie anyway, so I was hoping we could get seated right on time, if not a few minutes earlier. I hope they won't be running behind schedule at such an early hour!

The planning office person at the Poly told me Remy doesn't come around any more. I guess either she is wrong, or she meant that he will no longer be doing it by the time I go in February.

Just did even better (I think!)...got a 5:00pm ADR on the day we were going anyway. I really wanted to do dinner instead of lunch plus, we are heading to HS that evening for EMH so this is perfect! We'll hopefully will get there a little early. :)

Well, if you, or someone in your group likes Remy, It'd be a good idea. He's one of the first characters of his kind, he's pushed around on a serving cart.

My Mom adores Ratatoullie, and I was actually thinking of doing ADRs at Chefs De France so we could meet him, though I don't know if I could eat anything there, :confused3

I've read that Remy comes aroung the dining room, and that the handler has him say hello and etc., and that he'll do a little song and dance routine. He'll sing "Happy Birthday" if you're there for a birthday as well. The vids I've seen him in actually look cute. The handler will also translate for Remy. Like once he asked a few ladies if they were enjoying their trip and that they please come back for dessert. He was really cute, though he doens't talk the way he does in the movie, he squeaks instead. Still, if you like Remy, he's worth it.

A previous poster said they saw Remy last week. My guess is the person at the Poly was mistaken.

We saw him two weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed both our meals and our friend, the rat.

(We walked up to Chefs de France on a Saturday for a late lunch, without an ADR and were seated right away.)

We saw Remy two years ago and I thought he was a cutie patootie. I actually started to talk to him and told him that my husband loved to cook. What in the world comes over me at Disney I will never understand!

Just a part of the magic. :wizard: It's one the the reasons why I have a hard time trying to take a vacation somewhere else. :lmao:

We had a great time with Remy last year. We saw him twice. Once was a female handler and the other a male. It was some of the best character interaction we've ever had!

The food and drink was good when I went.

Remy wasn't "working" when I went and I didn't miss seeing him at all.

Oh, I can live without Remy, if it comes to that -- I didn't even know he might be there when I made the reservation -- but my daughter would get a HUGE kick out of seeing him, so I hope we do. Our reservation is for 12:30, though, so I suppose we might miss him even if he's working. I don't think I want to change it.

I changed my ressie to lunch so I don't have to eat dinner at 5:00 just so that I MIGHT get a glimpse of Remy.
