Remy Single Rider open

Absolutely right. She told me of her plan and I just said, ā€œI don’t think that’s the intent here..ā€. She shrugged and said she’d do what she wants. So. 😣. Come on folks. We can do better!
I’d drop Disney a note, especially since she planned it. Not fair to anyone in the Remy line, they need a procedure for that.

I would have smiled and let her wait there. Or loaded two more people into her row after she sat.

The procedure is: you fill in the single seat, or there's the ride exit. Pretty simple.
Sure but it appears either they haven’t trained the CM on who to call when the guest refuses to move to have the guest removed or the CM/manager didn’t feel like dealing with the hassle.

Disney gets lax on this and it will turn into the Guardians situation where by the last pre-show room people just push open the doors and walk out because #NoConsequences

I am very happy that Remy has finally Single rider and donā€˜t understand why they did not implement it earlier. In Paris, in the original ride, it works great and the wait times are consistently much lower. When Standy is 40-60 min, single rider is mostly 5-10 min. This should be a great improvement to the experience in Epcot, especially since the normal queues also should get a bit shorter due to people choosing single rider and thus filling up unused seats.

Dh and I are both Pooh-size, and I wonder if we went through the regular standby line, not the single rider line, separately, could we request to be seated alone since we didn't go through the single rider line?

I'm usually at Disney as a solo, and I'm a bit on the fluffy side. I certainly don't mind being paired with one other person, but I have no desire to be squished into a seat with 2 strangers, so I guess my Remy riding days are over.
Same. But I’ll probably go through SR anyway and if I don’t fit in the row with 2 others I imagine they would just put me with one other person. I can’t see them turning someone away from SR or sending them out the chicken exit due to their size.

I could be mistaken, but I think the point in the SR line is to fill in the regular standby line so there are 3 in every row…. so your party of 2 would face 1 added from SR line to make 3.

I’ve already said I think 3 can be problematic in the mouse cars for people of size so I’m hoping CM will exercise a little caution in assigning a 3rd rider but I would in your case definitely ask!

What I meant was if we went through the standby line separately, e.g., I stay out with a non-rider while he goes to ride, then I go by myself while he stays with a non-rider, but neither of us uses the Single Rider Line. Would that make it less likely to be asked to sit three across, if I'm Pooh size?

You could always give it a shot and see if it works. But, man, it just stinks to me that you and DH have to make a plan for this ride and can’t just enjoy riding it together… when the solution seems so obvious and sensible… just let you ride together without worrying about wedging a 3rd person in your row!

Don’t worry, the only reason we would ride separately is if there were a third, non-riding person one of us had to stay with. And really, the hypothetical was whether a Pooh-size person who went through the regular line alone would be able to ask to be seated with only one other person rather than two, whereas someone in the single rider line might not have that privilege.

I wonder, could a parent with a baby use the single rider line since if they are holding the baby in their lap, they only would be occupying one seat?

I don't think they would seat anyone else with you, at least I hope they would use their good judgement! No one should be wedged into a ride uncomfortably. If there is adequate room, then yes.
