Remy’s single rider line is problematic and inefficient

These experiences are examples of guests not using the single rider properly, not the single rider line. The guests described in both of these scenarios misused their use of the single rider lines as they should have boarded the rats with the groups they were assigned with, not waited to ride alone.

I’ve ridden single rider (for other attractions) often and sometimes guest are surprised when i board after them but it has never been a problem.
Yes. but there also weren't any CMs around to explain or help nudge them along. I will say it was a bit confusing, especially with the party of 4 being split 2 and 2 and then 2 single riders behind them. I get the math but it just seemed odd. - I think especially when you consider for the other ride vehicles that are set up like Remy (Pooh, Spaceship earth, the boats for ex.) they don't combine parties into 1 row so it just makes it a lil confusing. The other single riders make it more clear I feel like.

With the way the restraints are set up in Pooh I have no idea how they can even fit a third random adult the middle of the bar can be in an awkward spot

But even a party of 3; they don't put a single rider on with them; they ride 2 and 1 in the rows within the 1 vehicle if that makes sense.

I go to WDW solo 99% of the time so I use single rider if it's available. If it's not a busy day, no matter if I use the regular line or single rider, they will put me by myself, otherwise I'm with other people. The only ride it's uncomfortable on is MMRR.

Is there single rider on MMRR?

This is on the CMs to make sure that there are three people in each row. If they're not going to do that, then what was the point of the single rider line in the first place? It seems like maybe Disney is understaffing the ride, so there is no CM available to follow through and make sure that the single riders don't just wait until the next rat to board. That has to be fixed.

Our family was at Disney this past January. Our entire party of eight wanted to ride Remy. We did early entry to Epcot. We arrived at the gates of Epcot an hour early. A CM walked us into Epcot thirty minutes before park opening. At 8:30, the CM let us go....MY POINT-we did everything humanly possible to get to Remy for a good opening time. NOPE. By the time we arrived in France there was a three hour wait. The line had us out at the sidewalk. After we waited about an hour, we were to the point of seeing the actual line in front of Remy. We knew that if we continued to wait our whole day would be thrown off-timewise. While we were debating what to do, we saw the single rider lane. I ran up and asked a CM if the single rider lane was open, She said yes. Wait time was ten minutes. No brainer-we used it. I hopped onto a car with a mom and dad in the back and two young girls in the front. I sat with the girls. Introduced myself to the family. They introduced themselves and we were off. Had a fun time.

My take on Remy-unless your entire party is able to purposely jog to this ride, you are going to have a long wait. And, single rider lane riders can have a great time on Remy. If people act all annoyed that you are joining them-ignore them. So what?

Once a cast member sees the problem. It takes time to remedy it. Maybe even more time than another round. But yea ride is prob understaffed

In my case it was the single rider who purposefully didn’t join the call. There was no attempt to do so.

Can I ask what they do if they single rider can't fit in the car at Remy? DH is a rather larger guy and we always travel as a party of 2. We have zero issues fitting in the rat but I could see that the third person might not be thrilled. We are completely fine to be sat with another person but I am just wondering about procedure to be prepared. DH doesn't ride any roller coaster so I am always the solo rider and it can be very confusing to know what to do as there is rarely a CM exactly in place.

It sounds like that's exactly what happened here. Maybe the person thought "single rider" meant you get your own car.

I am glad to see Remy has single rider. I wish they would add to more attractions, too. We didn't encounter an issue with SR on Remy last week. Wish they had it for Tiana (as they do at DL) , TSM, and Space. The latter, I say because they are always looking for solo travelers in the line. They should just have a dedicated queue for it, but I am sure the room to do so is the issue. Why didn't they think about that in '75? haha

I have mainly had issues with other parties on TT. I go to sit down, and they don't move all the way over. Either the party I am seated with didn't realize I was going with them or the people were not too nice about me riding along in "their" car. That happened to me once on EE as well. It can make it slightly uncomfortable.

I'm personally glad they don't sit random singles with people at Tiana's and TSM

I had a family of five get quite annoyed I joined them on Remy last week. It was awkward. Then they started a whole conversation about how the ride didn’t have single rider before, etc. Literally so awkward.

Last week we had singles and other odd-numbered parties with us on Tiana’s. Multiple times. Concentrated effort to fill every seat.

How are those any different from Expedition Everest? Or RnRC?

EE and RnRC both have individual seats

Last week we had singles and other odd-numbered parties with us on Tiana’s. Multiple times. Concentrated effort to fill every seat.

I've done the ride multiple times (between Splash and Tiana's), and I've never been paired with anyone

I hadn’t seen it on splash since it was a new ride with 3 hour lines (pre fast pass). Checking our pics, it was about 50% that they matched us up. My boys loved it, so we were on quite a few times. It wasn’t super crowded last week and lines were reasonable, so I was a little surprised. It was fine, though.

Whatever they do, I bet it is inconsistent

No they just didn’t want to be squeezed with the couple in front of her. I could tell because right when my family came up she immediately started talking to my young kids because of how awkward the situation she was in was. Such as there was a couple then her and the couple wasn’t interacting with her at all. she was a nice lady and I could see where the awkwardness comes from
