Removing the sorcerer's hat at DHS?

I agree move that hat and lots of people are very happy. It's like putting the hat in front of the castle.

I think most people would agree, it wasn't the hat itself (which IMO was done MUCH more tastefully than the crappy wand over Spaceship Earth), it was the location, which destroyed a great view of what people consider to be "classic hollywood".

If they had the hat nearly anywhere else in the park, it would have been ok with most people I think.

I liked them both, used the wand each year as the kids' growth shot.

too bad they can't repurpose the giant icons somewhere...throw them in a value, etc.

Well spectromagic is gone...

Yes it is, but that doesn't mean people don't prefer it over MSEP. That was always a topic of discussion even after it went away. Just like when the hat goes away there will be discussions from people wishing it was still there.

I'm thrilled the hat is being taken down. About time!

It ruined the view up Hollywood Blvd when you entered the park.

Now if they would just take down the graveyard and turn back on the fountains in EPCOT i would be ecstatic.

I am, however, disappointed that Spectromagic is no more...

I'll join the Spectromagic fan club here. Thought it was heads-and-shoulders above MSEP from an overall entertainment standpoint. Seemed to be a lot more character interaction with Spectromagic (in terms of their "talking" from the floats, etc.). Or maybe it's just because the MSEP song never...ever...changes...and, like "It's a Small World", it won't get out of my head once I've heard it again! (My apologies to those of you who are now singing either one.)
