Is this possible?

We have some stains in the countertop of one of our bathrooms (my bad, I didn't clean up some craft stuff involving silver and *somehow* it stained the countertop :/ ) and nothing we've tried has gotten it out.

Anyone know of any way to remove stains from corian countertops, or is that not possible?

I could be wrong, but don't you just sandpaper? I remember I fell in love with Corian years ago for that reason. :) Good luck! Do they have a website? Maybe it would be on there.

Thanks, Sandy! I never thought of going to their website (shoot, I never thought of corian *having* a website. LOL!!) but you're right, instructions are there. And you're also right about sanding to remove minor scratches and stuff. :D That should make DH happy -- he accidentally put some scratches in this same sink a while back and was unhappy that he couldn't get them out.

Glad they have a website and that sanding worked! :)

What else would Sandy recommend, Tammi, other than sanding? :p Glad you fixed it. :)

and we just poured a wee bit of clorox on the top and squished it around and the stains were gone and the place sanitized......what a nice clean looking counter.....next one will be another color......not "beige"

If you are going to go for a new countertop you should check out granite...its not all that much cost difference and is SO easy to take care of! We used to have formica and I would never go back to that, it stains and chips..granite is so nice, you can put a hot pot right down on it and it leaves no marks!

LOL! ;)

We have Corian in our kitchen and we have small surface scratches that do not come out! I tried using soft scrub, tried the green sponge they recommend and it just made them look worse. Tried fine sandpaper once but it left a dull finish in the spot I tried. Any advice? I really regret getting Corian now and wish we went for granite or even the basic laminate the builder was offering. With the laminate atleast I wouldn't be so annoyed every time I see a scratch since we wouldn't have payed so much extra.

Sorry to vent! I just got excited when I saw this was a topic here! LOL

Sorry to hear that, Stimpy! :( For the price you pay for Corian, you sure don't want it looking like that!

I have Swanstone, which is a solid surface material like Corian, and they recommend Bon Ami cleanser.

thanks for the help.. I just tried it on my bathroom sink stain and it it much better..:teeth:
