Removing name from ADR

If I remove my name from someone else's ADR, does that lower their reservation total?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't, they'll just have a blank spot.

I'm not sure what the concern is. If guests show up at a reservation with less people than originally booked on the reservation, there are no consequences.

When I try to make a reservation in my own name around the same time as another reservation I am on and do not manage, a box pops up that says I'm on the other reservation. It asks if I want to remove myself from the other reservation. Will that reduce the other reservation by one if I remove myself this way, or does it keep the total the same and instead of my name being on the other reservation, it shows "guest"?

Do you know what the other reservation is? Like did family make a reservation or is it a glitch?

no glitch. I'm on it. Just want to know if it can be done this way instead of contacting the manager of reservation every time I want to make a change. This way they can have someone take my place.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it keeps the total the same and shows one as "guest". I did it about a year ago when trying to get BOG ADRs for a large family group and as far as I remember the numbers didn't change.

Are you trying to double-book reservations?

no. I have a large group. Lots of needs. Trying to keep what we have and not lose as we add more somewhere else because of some late group of people added.

Are you going to this new reservation with someone else? If so, I would make the reservation in their name and just leave the original reservation as is. Just because your name is on the original reservation doesn't mean you have to go to it. They can bring someone else even if your name is on the reservation.
