Remove Adhesive Residue?

Does anyone know how to remove the sticky dot residue from pictures without ruining them?

Craft store. Like Michael's. My Michael's doesn't carry undu though.

You should be able to get it at any craft store: I'm surprised Michael's doesn't have it. It is great stuff: I use it for price stickers on glass frames, as well as scrap stuff.

We can get UnDu at our walmart in the craft section. It's a few aisles over from the scrapbook stuff but still in the crafts. I would sure try that before the nail polish remover! I also like to test stuff like that on a picture I don't plan to use in my albums. Maybe on a piece you've cropped off, just to see how it will work. I have also used a plain ol' pencil eraser to get that dotty adhesive off. Like I said try it out on a bad picture first. Good luck!

Did you guys know that cooking oil also removes adhesive. I'm not positive what it would do to a picture though. And you need a little more elbow grease to get the glue off. Undo is also called Scrapper's Solution. That's what my bottle says anyway.

I think I will have to experiment with the oil and pictures.

I used Undu when I took all my old photos out of their original photo albums. It worked well. My LSS store owner recommended it.

It does not hurt the photos. My son was given some photos that had been laminated and I used Undo to remove the lamination and the photos were fine.

Thanks everyone! I'm so glad that there is something! These pictures were off of my dad's funeral boards that we put together and I originally stored them with picture facing picture. People were going through them after I took them down and they somehow didn't end up the way they were supposed to. I was so worried they were all ruined by the adhesive, because most of them can't be replaced!

Un-du is like magic! You can literally POUR it over your photo and it will be fine. New photos, old photos, photos from a home printer, professional photos, etc. I have never had it damage a picture. And it dries totally invisible on paper also! So if you need to remove something from a paper layout or poster, it will be fine.

FWIW..... I recently bought a little "tool" at Target called an adhesive remover. It looks like a small, round, grey eraser with a pointed end. It works great on paper.... not sure on photos............P

I use CM's pick up square. It's a gelatinous square that remove adhesive residue off of pictures and paper.

I use the CM pick up sqaure on paper too, not sure how it would work on a photo. You cold make your own by brushing rubber cement over a piece of paper and rolling it up into a ball.
