Does anyone know if they have begun to remove the sofa-beds and replace with queens in the Dedicated 2-Bedroom villas at BCV? We will be staying in one begining Oct. 11 and it would be nice if that had been done by then.

I posted a reply on another thread about this. When we were touring the models at BCV last week, the guide told us that all 2 bedrooms (including dedicated) would have a queen and pull out sofa. When I told her I had heard that was a mistake and they were going to put 2 queens in the dedicated 2 bdrms, she told us that was not going to happen. I don't know if she was just saying this because she really didn't know or if it is actually fact. Hopefully someone else will have additional info on this!

Someone (I am sorry I don't remember who) had posted that they tried to make a reservation for sometime in Oct. and were told that there would be a limited number of rooms available at that time due to the fact that they were starting to change the sofas out for queen beds in the 2 bedroom dedicateds. Hopefully that person will post here and confirm what date that were trying to make the reseration for.

That would have been me! He was making a reservation for the end of October( the last week) and was told this by MS. He was also told that they may be done by that time and to waitlist just in case they were done an became available.

Bump just moves a thread to the top of thread list, as it then becomes the most recently updated thread. As other people deal with other threads, then the original one moves down again.

"Dedicated" means that the unit is not a combined 1 bedroom unit with a lock-off door to a studio. It cannot be converted into something other than a two bedroom unit.

As good and experienced as Disney has gotten at this whole "timeshare" thing, it is amazing to me that they could have made such a mistake as this. I would think that most folks who go to the trouble of reserving a 2 bedroom unit would prefer 2 queen size beds in the 2nd bedroom. A sofa in the den/great room would/should be more than enough. It will be interesting to see how this thing plays out. I can understand the flexibilty that doing this would buy them if the 2nd room in all 2 bedrooms were lock-offs but for the dedicated units, repeating myself, it doesn't make sense.

Does anyone else find this strange? I am in no way doubting the word of lsyorke, but with BCV sold at approx 50%, wouldn't that mean that about one half of the rooms have been declared into the condominium? They could re-configure the other half first, and not impede availability; then use those finished rooms for point ressies while the others are done. The only question is if the EXACT room #'s must be declared.

Just wondering...

In April, as one of my request I asked for a studio with two queen beds and was told that they were available. As a result of recent threads I emailed the DVC to verify my request. This is the answer we received. Please be advised studios at DISNEY'S BEACH CLUB VILLAS have the following floor plan: All studios have one queen size bed and one full-size sofa bed and are approximately 356 sq. feet. When you originally made this reservation there was a question on whether we would have 2 queen beds or the alternate floor plan. Since the resort wasn't even open we were unsure but now that it is open,
it has been advised that they do not have any studios with 2 queen beds.

Jackie Reuters (Rueters?) at Member Services assured me in an EMail a while back that the dedicated 2-bedrooms WOULD have the second beds in place. My next trip is in March and she figured the switch would be complete by then.

I never asked about the studio rooms. I personally love the 2 -bed setup and would nuke all those couches if I could! Who wants to sleep on a pull-out couch on their vacation? We spent a few days at OKW this summer after being at BCV and I was glad to be done with fussing with that couch each night.

Hope this helps and hope you have a comfy bed upon arrival...

The planned layout was 2 queen beds in the dedicated 2 BR units and a queen plus pull out full in the lockoff's. I'm not sure if there ar any dedicated studios at BCV, I'm sure someone will know. If there are, I doubt they will have 2 queen beds. I'd check with MS.
