This may be slightly OT, but I had a small mole removed that had suddenly appeared right in the middle of my forehead
and, when the doctor removed the stitches yesterday, he told me it had been a basal cell carcinoma---which is fortunately the mildest kind of skin cancer you can get. I'm very fair-skinned and, yes, probably had several bad sunburns during my teen years when any color seemed better than no color! Those are the years when most of the damage is done, but even now I've learned that it's not enough to simply use a lot of sunscreen---you have to watch sun exposure as well. I have 1 wide-brimmed hat, but it's not that practical in the parks, so i'm going to be buying plenty of baseball caps with large visors. Also, it was recommended that even when it's hot, to wear a loose-fitting, light long-sleeved blouse rather than t-shirts.
