I want to get a software program that will keep a calendar, addresses and phone numbers, give reminders etc. I don't need it to email etc and I don't want to spend a fortune on it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what program I could use. Thanks!!

Do you have Outlook?

No, and with all the viruses that seem to attack outlook I don't know that I want it. Do you think that it might be my best option? (Outlook is what my dh's computer guy suggested.)

I have outlook at my office, but I have yahoo for my personal accounts and have all that stuff too.

I use the the software that came with the Palm Pilot I got years ago.

I hardly ever use the device, itself - but I really like the software.

I have it loaded on both my home PC and my work PC, and I use the device to update the two from time to time.

....I couldn't live without it!

You don't have to buy a new one... Pick up an older model - just make sure you get the software. It has everything you're looking for...

Try mozilla Sunbird; from the makers of Firefox and Thunderbird, Sunbird is a FREE calendar application, but separate from the free Thunderbird email application.

If you want, you can get both Thunderbird and Sunbird, and they work together just like Outlook, but for free, and without the virus issues of Outlook.

I both at home, and they work great, were easy to install, and are very reliable.

Outlook is fine. As long as you are current on your updates, other software (anti-virus, etc), as you should be for any software, you will be fine. Any program today or operating system really mandates you be prudent with your updates and Net habits.

Microsoft Works has a pop-up calendar reminder option too. Works came preloaded on my computer and I was using that until I upgraded to Microsoft Office 2003, which has a nicer calendar feature that I use now.
