i'm trying to plan our next trip to WDW, and i'm looking at January or February. i recall someone saying the cheerleading competitions were in early February-does anyone have the exact dates for 2006 and 2007, if they're available? i want to avoid being there then if at all possible. please don't think i have anything against cheerleaders, i don't, i just want to avoid any large crowds. TIA :flower:

*was in WDW this time last week* :(

College Cheerleading and Dance Team Championship. January 13–16.
February 2006
National Dance Team Championship. February 3–6.
National High School Cheerleading Championship. February 10–13.
Twirlmania. February 17–20. Twirlers, auxiliary guard, pom, and dancers descend on the Wide World of Sports

These are the ones posted so far. Also remember majority of competitions will have a group of cheerleaders with them too. Like the Pop Warner Superbowl Dec 4-10

We'll be there during the time that the Dance Championships will be on (Feb 3-5)...does anyone know what these competitions are like, where they're held and if the general public can attend? I know my DD 9 would love to see a dance competition.

The UCA All Star Cheerleading Competition is scheduled for March 10th to 13th. :cheer2: :cheer2:

We were there once in May (been awhile) with MANY cheerleaders :cheer2: staying at AllStars.
Not much sleep was had, but they didn't seem to be in the parks. Their competition was at the Indiana Jones arena in MGM, so we didn't go there that day. I think at any given time you will have lots of school groups whether it be sports, band or even my DD middle school "social studies" trip to EPCOT.

I went to nationals in 2003 as part of a team. We stayed at the caribbean. Hip hop was at mgm, but most other competitions were held at the sports complex. the only time we really got to go into the park was when they closed down mk early just for us :) and after the competions at mgm. the groups don't stay long and i don't think we disrupted anyones trip and sorry if we did!

plus i got to be there for my birthday, so it was extra special!

the competitions are open to the public, but i think you have to buy a ticket
