Remind me what's on Main Street

So, I've been thinking that on this trip I really want to slow it down and check out things that I've been too busy to really investigate before. I have ducked into a shop or two on Main Street but can't really remember much about what is there. I know there is:

Bakery
Barbershop
Arcade (I think? -I've never been)
Casey's
Emporium
Tony's

I know I've got to be missing something (or maybe a lot of somethings!). So... fill me in!

No arcade... long gone (a couple of the "peep-shows" are up in the train station).

There's are Glass sculptures and jewelry
and the "Pal Mickey store" in what used to be the "Cinema".
Lots of other things to buy.

But I always think fo Main Street as where we can enjoy the Dapper Dans (barbershop quartet & comdey) and several other musical groups.

Lots of fun.

there is an ice cream parlor, a watch store, um lets see theres a sports merchindise store. thats all i can remember hope that helps.

Don't forget the Town Square Exposition Hall behind the camera shop. It has a theater playing Disney cartoons and some photo oppertunities.

There's also the Vehicals that go up and down the street (trolly, autos, etc.) and the trolly show where a number of dancers perform a musical number up and down the street that happens a couple times a day.

The "cinema" you referred to.... I was thinking there was a place where you could sit and catch some old Disney cartoons (maybe black & white). Is this the place -- and if so, you mean its gone now?

Le Chapeau Hat Shop

Candy Store

VMK (Virtual Magic Kingdom) location - computers for those who play VMK, as well as many CDs, DVD/Videos, and "stuff" - much seems to be movie/TV show related (Christmas they had lots of Narnia stuff, POC stuff, etc.)

OK - I think we can ignore my previous post, I think this is the place I was thinking of and it sounds like it's still there. :goodvibes

Yes and No.

The Main Street Cinema (its still CALLED that on the sign) is actually a Pal Mickey store.
Its also where you can have an "ailing" Pal Mickey brought back to good health by a quick "reboot".

But (as another post mentioned) there IS a GOOD place to watch some classic Disney animation on Main Street.
Its at the Town Square Exposition Hall. (Its opposite Town Hall, near the flag-pole).
Walk in past the camera shop. And find a sit-down theater that shows Disney cartoons.

I LOVE the Main Street Trolley Show!! It's so much fun! :thumbsup2

people, characters and more people. there's rocking chairs you can used
while my wife & daughter spent alot of $$$. come to think of it....there's
shops up and down both streets...what an orginal idea. sure like to be able
to take out that imaginer to lunch! actually, it's one of my favorite places
to do..."window shopping".

Be sure to look up at the windows as you walk down Main Street. You'll see names, such as Ub Iwerks* and Claude Coats, and businesses, such as a gym and a real estate agency. These are the "credits" of the Magic Kingdom - tributes to people who helped create the park in some way or another. (This is an extension of the idea that the MK is a cinematic experience; the front entrance is the title screen, and then you walk up the opening credits.)

If you have a PAL MICKEY this is one of the first things he talks about as you enter MK.

First he complains that HIS name is not up on a window, because HE is an important guy to MK.

Then he catches himself and says, "Uh Uh... I forgot, they named an entire LAND after me (Mickey's Toontown Fair). Just forget I ever said anything, OK pal?"

Gotta love PAL MICKEY!

Oh you guys forgot MY store :) The Main St Markethouse where you can pick up Disney related Kitchen things.
