Remember when the Texas Democrats left?

Well, Gov. Perry has called a special session for June 30 for them to push the redistricitng through! I have typically suported the Republicans, but they are just being bullies! They want the new districts so they will gain seats.

Rumor is that the democrats in the Texas Senate have the votes plus a cushiion to filibuster the redistrciting plan. It will be fun to see what happens.

I keep going back to the old saying that I learned from my high school debate coach/civics teacher: "No true Texan can sleep soundly while the Texas legislature is in session."

Maybe the legislature should start meeting every 100 years for 2 days instead of the other way around.

On the other hand, this is good for my friend who works for the lege -- extended benefits so she can afford to go to the doctor!

Hey, that's the benefit of being the MAJORITY party!!
Democrats in TX have had decades of pushing their own agenda and they are pulling this childish crap to keep the MAJORITY Rebublicans from being able to reap the benefits of being the MAJORITY party.

Amen. They have passed some of the stupidest bills in the whole US.
