Remember to take your ticket when returning to parks

My son and I watched a very ugly situation last night. This group of people came storming over to the ticket window at MK.

They were yelling and swearing because they had attempted to reenter a park but didn't have their tickets. They only had their hand stamps. They were yelling to anyone and everyone about how unfair Disney was for not letting them in with only a hand stamp.

They went over to the ticket window and yelled at the person working that window.

Thankfully we left so I don't know what happened.

But if you are planning on going back to the parks later in the day remember to bring your ticket also. A hand stamp won't get you into the parks.

I always have my ticket with me when we go to the parks, and I've gotten my hand stamped before, but I didn't go back to the same park that day. Sorry for sounding ignorant :o , but then WHY do they stamp your hand when you exit if you can't return without your ticket ? Do you have to slide your ticket back in, or do they just look at it to verify that you do indeed have a valid ticket? Please educate me ;) !

the reason you need the ticket and the handstamp is so that they can make sure that people are not entering the park, exiting the park and handing off the ticket for someone else to get in, then re-entering using just a handstamp. hope that made some kind of sense!

They stamp your hand so that they know YOU were in the park earlier. Otherwise, a person could "share" a ticket - someone else could use the same ticket to get into a park without another day of admission being used.

Thus, a person needs both the ticket (that the system will see was used earlier that same day) AND a hand stamnp to get back into a park on the same ticket/day of admission that was used earlier in the day.

The ticket also tells the gate CMs that you are allowed into that park. In one scenario, it prevents one from trying to use a one park ticket, get a handstamp before leaving that park and go to another park using only the handstamp.

Handstamps only prove that you were previously in a park that day, not that you are entitled to enter another one.

I personally hope they were wrestled to the ground by security in mouse ears and promptly escorted out of the place! They only have a zillion signs telling you that you must have a ticket and a hand stamp to reenter the park! Why would you even attempt to come without a ticket? I can understand them being more upset about having the ticket but not the hand stamp then this situation - although I understand why you couldn't get in without the hand stamp as well!
