FYI-
I lost the metal clasps to the pin, the pin is so heavy. Disney sells a bag of Mickey shaped rubber pin backs for pretty cheap. I think there were 10-15 in a bag. I lost a few of those as well. I was glad I had back-ups. Just giving you a heads up... I know no one wants to lose those pins.

Eraser backs/tops work in a pinch....I wouldn't trust them for all day, but for an hour or two, to get back to your room or whatever, they work just fine.

We had one from our trip in 2002, but I am not sure what happened to it! Wish I could find it!!! But, if they are selling on e-bay and they still work, maybe I will pick one up for each of my kids so we can take them with us next time! They were so cool!!! I remember being on the Great Movie Ride in MGM, and it went off. I love them!!!

I have one of each from the 100 years celebration. Love them! We take them back each trip. They are heavy, but sometimes we attach them to a hat or fannypack.

My fav is in the Haunted Mansion, when you pass the bride in the attic it starts beating in rhythm to her heartbeat. So cool!

This was my first ever Disney pin and it was so much fun. I think I'll change the battery and bring it with me this week and see if it still works.

I'm planning on bringing mine back in Dec....just have to replace the batteries. I left them in the pins, and the pins started going off and on at really strange times in my bedroom!!! I have them stuck into a lampshade with all my other WDW pins!!!

My Ebay win fell through so I borrowed a friend's AK pin for this trip. I replaced the batteries and the pin started twinkling. Is there a shut off for it or do I just wait until we get to the parks to put in the batteries?

You have to just take the batteries out. Last time we went, I put the pins, extra batteries, and an eyegalss repair kit with the little screwdriver all in a zipper bag together, and it made it much easier to quickly put the batteries in and out each day.

I won one off E-Bay that I think is a newer version. It does not look exactly like the Millenium Celebration ones (no reference to millenium on the pin) and actually has a turn off button. Also, it plays games and an interactive game that flashes if it sees another pin and turns the other pin off -- but only in the game mode -- not the regular Park Mode. As it was the only one I seemed to win ... I hope it will sparkle and be as much fun as the "old" ones are. It looks the same otherwise and indeed is too large and heavy to really wear as a pin I think. I will put it on my fanny pack.

I had never heard of these pins until the OP put it out on this thread and lost about three ebay bids trying to get one!
