I'm happy to report that the man charged with the crime is back in jail. The district attorney asked that his bail be reconsidered, and the judge reset it at $250,000 -- up from $40,000. I still don't think it's high enough given that you only really have to have 10%. If he manages to post the bond, he has a number of restrictions, including that he is not allowed to come into the county except for proceedings related to his case.
