Remember The Good Turn at Epcot?

I was reading a thread about the Garden Grill at the Land pavilion at Epcot and remembering when it was called "The Good Turn". The Land Pavilion was sponsored by Kraft when it opened, and TGT featured a number of items with cheese. We used to love to go there for dinner and it was relaxing to dine while we rotated and we loved the part where we could actually see and hear a bit of Listen To The Land below us.

My first visit there was when it was still called "The Land Grille". I think I remember that at that time, the emphasis was on "healthier fare".

I'm guessing that the change to "Garden Grill" may have come when the pavillion had a big rehab in '95.

I also recall The Land Grille, and TGT pre-dates that name. We've been going to Epcot since it opened in 82 (?) and the restaurant was The Good Turn for quite a few years.

I visited once when it was The Land Grille, best salad I have ever had. I think that was in 94 or 95. We visited for only one day in 2003 and I was so excited to go there and get that salad-nearly ten years later-only to discover it was now a character meal. I was a little bummed to say the least and still craving that salad.

OK, I did a little research. It looks like the change from "Good Turn" to "Land Grille" probably happened some time in 1986. The '86 edition of the Birnbaum Guide listed the former name, while the '87 edition listed the latter.

(Having a complete set of those guides comes in handy for arcane questions like this.)

I remember when it was "The Good Turn". Yum! I've liked that restaurant in all its incarnations.

As an aside, signage for "The Good Turn" (as well as other extinct venues) can be found in Pleasure Island's Comedy Warehouse.
