WOW! I just bought a few bags for Halloween. Talk about a blast from the past. I didn't even know they still made them!

My kids got HEATH bars... I haven't seen those in FOREVER!!!!

I REALLY wanted them to bring home some CLARK bars...

We did get some skittles gum though :teeth:

Up here in Canada Oh Henry bars are everywhere.:D

Bought some too, love those. In light of the Sox win DS7 thought it was pretty cool the original bar was named after a baseball player. Remember the commercial when we were growing up "Oh Henry"!! (as he hits the ball into the stands...). Happy Halloween!:charac4:

I know the name "O Henry" but I don't know that I ever ate one.
Heath bars are still a staple around here. Not only can you get the candy bars, but you can get ice cream with Heath bar pieces in it.:D

Unfortunately, I am old enough to remember the commercials with Henry Aaron in them swingin' away................

Have not seen the bars in quite some time.

Wow! I haven't seen them for a long time. I am not even sure if you can get them up here where I live!

Yes. And do you remember the commercials in the 70's for O Henry bars?

Hank Aaron would hit a homerun and the crowd would all yell "Oh Henry!"

Or something like that.;)

I never liked them, they have nuts in them. Ick.:earseek:

How about Mallocups? I love those things and can never find them!!

Last round of advertising I saw for them was "Oh hungry? Oh Henry!"

Well, all the trick or treaters are gone and I still have quite a few Oh Henry bars left - guess I'll be sampling them some more this week... :teeth:

I remember the basebal commercials also, clear as day! With the commercial, and Hank Aaron, you would think that the candy bar was named after Hank, right?

WRONG! I did some digging and this is what I found...

The "Oh Henry" name has nothing to do with Hamerin' Hank the baseball player or O. Henry the author. Henry was the name of a young man who used to come to the Williamson Candy Store in Chicago where chocolate was being made and sold.
Henry would kid around with the girls who made the candy. After awhile, the girls began asking Henry to do little jobs and favors. "Oh Henry, do this" or "Oh Henry, will you get me that?" Later that year (1921) "Oh Henry" became the name of the new candy bar.

How interesting! I just love those useless little bits of trivia. You must be alot like me.::yes::

That's like everyone thinking that Baby Ruth candy bars are named after Babe Ruth. They are actually named after a president's daughter.

But the Reggie bars were named after Reggie Jackson.
