My wife and I are looking into one of the cooking port adventures in Cozumel on our upcoming Treasure cruise. Does anyone have experience with either the Mexican Cuisine Workshop and Tasting and/or Barefoot Fish Cookout? I have not been able to find many reviews of them. I'd love to hear about anyone's experience with either of these excursions.

TIA! :goodvibes:thumbsup2

This was one of the best excursions we have been on with DCL. We’ve done it twice and will likely do it again the next time we are in Cozumel. The people running it were great and we enjoyed making our main dish and a dessert. The majority of our time was spent on the cooking and eating. There is an open bar (beer, pina coladas, soft drinks etc.) throughout the excursion and you get about 1.5 hours to enjoy the beach and pool area at the resort after you have lunch. The beach was fine for swimming both times we were there. There is also a nice pool right beside the bar where you are able to get drinks that are included in the cost of the excursion. When the bus took us back to the port area, we still had a fair amount of time to do some shopping before we had to reboard the Fantasy. I have read another report where those people took a taxi back instead of the bus in order to stay on the beach for another hour.

Awesome! Which did you do? The Mexican Cuisine Workshop or the Barefoot Fish Cookout? Also, if you can remember, the one you did, did and of the dishes have any nuts (wife has an allergy, she can be around them just can't eat them).

Sorry about that, I realized afterwards that you had asked about two different cooking excursions and I hadn't said which one we did. It was the Mexican Cuisine Workshop https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/...-mexico-mexican-cuisine-workshop-and-tasting/

As far as nuts go, we didn't use any in the dishes that we made - some of the items we used in the two times we were there were rice, shrimp, fish, tomatoes and chocolate. I've included two photos of the dishes we made (sorry for how dark they are) from our first time there. The second time we were there, they substituted chicken for a person that didn't like fish.

I looked online and found Playa Mia's website for the Mexican cuisine workshop and it includes an email address and 1-800 number at the bottom of the page, if you wanted to check with them directly regarding nut use.

Just wanted to follow up with you. The Mexican Cuisine Workshop and Tasting is not an option for our cruise. It was replaced with Kuza Beach Club and Flavors of Mexico Culinary Workshop. Maybe it is just a temporary thing :confused3. We opted for the Barefoot Fish Cookout.

Hi! We are thinking about doing the Kuza Beach Club and Flavors of Mexico Culinary Workshop on our cruise in November - mainly wondering if there's time for shopping in Cozumel after a culinary excursion?
