If you get put on hold when calling Disney you get to listen an unending string of remakes of Disney songs by God knows whom, most of which are to say the least unremarkable.

When waiting for Fantasmic I heard among many such selections a disco version (aaauuughh!) of "Beauty and the Beast", and what for all the world sounded like David Bowie doing "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah".

WHERE DO THEY GET THESE SONGS?!?!

Do they pay unknown artists some pittance to do their songs? Otherwise why oh why do these artists do them? Or are some of these well-known artists?

I know that some country artists (Diamond Rio, Little Texas, Faith Hill, Pam Tillis, etc.) have done some remakes of Disney songs but that was on an album specifically titled "The Best of Country Sing The Best of Disney."

I think the "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" you heard was sung by Ric Ocasek from the Cars and was released on "Simply Mad Aboot the Mouse"
