Relocating to the MAGIC (not the ship)

Congratulations on the move!!
How exciting!!
Thanks for including us in this thread.... It allows me to live vicariously!

;)congrats Lori and Rick!!! so excited for you.

looking forward to hearing more tales of orlando in the near future! :rotfl2:before work each am when i was on the CP, I used to get in the car, pray and then take off and hope that some crazy tourist didn't cross those 4 lanes of traffice and swipe me. I saw it happen daily- those few miles from vista way to HS were scary. :rotfl:

it must be a lot of fun to be so close to the magic now. Orlando has so many great restaurants and wonderful shopping too. i only wish i could follow in your footsteps. what i wouldn't give to be avoiding a crazy driver about now. :confused3;)

have a fabulous time in your new digs!

That driving scares me. Here in Iowa our biggest concern is having a tractor on the road.

Congratulations on your move, Lori and Rick!!

You also need to learn to accept the fact that what you want at the moment will be on the opposite side of town at all times.

The quicker you learn to accept that as fact...the better off you will be.

You also need to know that streets and roads usually have several names.

Highway 192 is also Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, which is also Space Coast Boulevard, which is also Main Street in Kissimmee (but not much anymore because there is also another Main Street), which is 13th Street in St Cloud.

Orange Blossom Trail is also SR 441 and 17-92...but only for a while is it 17-92, but in Kissimmee it turns into Main Street (the actual Main Street ...but stays 441 / 17-92) and then switches back to Orange Blossom Trail

Apopka-Vineland Road is also SR 535 but only for a while but then SR 535 turns in a different direction, but Apopka-Vineland Road does not.

There is a Vineland Road and a Michigan Avenue everywhere, but none of them are the same.

SR 528 used to be the Bee Line (and still is to some of us...just to confuse things) but is now the Beach Line, but also still 528.

SR 408 used to be known as the East-West but will now only be referred to as that by people that have lived here a while.

SR 50 is also Colonial Drive.

SR 438 is also Semoran Boulevard

Got it?

Kevin, I thought you lived in Orlando, not Pittsburgh. The road my sister lives off of has 3 different names. All within 2 miles.

Congratulations on the move Lori and Rick. Some of us tourists are jealous. And you won't have to worry about me being one of those tourist drivers. When I go on vacation the last time I drive is when I get out of my car at the airport. I let Disney do my driving, or FL Tours.

Kim

all this complaining about the drivers....
you want to see really scary driving? - fly to this side of the atlantic..
pretty much any country will suffice....
although, you might want to down a few valium first

I was thinking the same thing Kim. :rotfl: It is really fun to drive around with the GPS because it says to turn and it lists off 3 different street names.

Congrats Rick and Lori. :banana::banana:

I wish I was in Orlando this week.:goodvibes

Last night we drove in with another load of stuff. As we drove down 535 toward home we could see the tip top of Cindy's castle all lit up and Wishes going off overhead. While I like watching Wishes from the Poly beach the most- this was still pretty cool!

And for the record- Orlando has a pretty active Craigslist forum. Needless to say our "new" washer and dryer were delivered this morning. After 10 years of laundremats excited is an understatement.

This week I got to buy dishwasher detergent (first time in 10 years also) fabric softner, laundry detergent.... I was so happy I almost wet myself!:lmao:

I know, I need a real life.:sad2:

with the new washer/dryer it's okay!!

I love that street name - it is so fun to say Apopka-Vineland, Apopka-Vineland....

I know just what you mean! I cannot wait until the day I have a dishwasher (well, other than Jason)!!

Congrats on the move! I love hearing your updates!

Congrats on the move Rick and Lori !!!! And BIG WOOHOO on the washer and dryer :woohoo: I remember that day !!!!

I can't imagine coming home, sitting out on the lanai with a glass of wine and watching Wishes !!

Thanks again for picking up the picture frame for us. We love it. :)

So does this mean my plan of sucking up to you guys on the cruise to get you to invite me and DH to stay at your place for the NO 1/2 marathon in 2011 is over? Oh, man!!!!

I'm so excited for your move. We live in the historic district in Savannah, and I remember *sniff* like it was yesterday the day we got a place big enough for a washer and dryer. Good times I tell ya, good times.

Another funny comparison about NO and Savannah, we have the was that fireworks or gunfire problem too! Wierd they don't use that as a selling feature like they do the "atmospheric parks and horse drawn carriages" :rotfl:

Congrats on the move!

When was the last time you saw this at the grocery? Yesterday at Winn Dixie!
:thumbsup2

I'm pretty jealous that you guys are now in Florida full time! I would LOVE to live in Florida...not going to happen for us for awhile, but I can hold out for my dream! :goodvibes
