Religion?

I'm definitely not going to be able to continue reading this thread or a debate will get started. Some people don't need to talk until they know what they are talking about.

Just because YOU don't believe what others say, doesn't mean "they don't know what they're talking about".


Jehovah's Witness is the ONE religion I can not tolerate. I can't fathom how, or where their beliefs came to be. It makes no sense to me whatsoever the things the preach. Personally, if I were a JW, I'd be dead by now due to medical needs.
Plus there's the fact they always come around trying to get us to join their kingdom hall, even though for the last 15 years we've been telling them NO! Two little old ladies got bold enough once to GO AROUND THROUGH MY BACKYARD TO MY SLIDING DOOR!!! to try to get us to join. We have a no soliciting sign in the front yard, you'd think that would be enough.

We have the same problem here. Exactly. Like, I believe in God and I've accepted Jesus as my savior because he died for my sins, but I don't believe in EVERY SINGLE THING the church preaches. If they say God is a loving, accepting God, why do they say he discriminates by hating gays or divorcees? I'm just confused. Yes, I pray, but I don't attend church. The only church we have is a Catholic and you know their attitude, "All or nothing".

I know all about the "all or nothing" attitude. My friend is Catholic and she said you can't "pick and choose" from the Bible. Well she does!!! The hypocrisy of it all infuriates me. It also seems that the Catholic church makes their own rules, like no birth control...which makes no sense to me.

OMG I know! We have part of our backyard fenced in, like a big privacy fence because we have a pool. We were obviously home (I guess?) and my mom was in the backyard inside the fenced area. Well because no one answered the door these two ladies just decide to walk right into our backyard and give my mom information!

When the people usually come we just don't answer the door. I know that they feel they have to do it for their religion (like the Mormons) but I just can't take it when they start their talk about helping to "save" me. I have my own religion, I can save myself. I don't need theirs to do that.

I am technically catholic.

I was baptised, took my communion and reconciliation, then "shocked the world" when I turned 15 and said

"yeah.. umm.. about getting confirmed.. I'm not going to be"

hence, I am a catholic, who is not confirmed, so I refer to myself as 'a catholic by default' or 'a lapsed catholic'.

I'm agnostic.

I often tell my mother on many occasions, that I dislike her decision of baptising me catholic. I would have prefered to have made my own decision when I got older. But if I have to fill out a form, if it is nothing to do with education I say agnostic or none, but if it is to do with education I just tick catholic to save confusion with my catholic schooling background.

I was baptized Christian in 2nd grade the youngest you could do it at my church.
It wasnt really my decision it was more of my parents forcing me to do it
If I had to do it again I wouldnt let them make me do it
Everyone at my church thought of me as the perfect Christian child but I was far from that
I didnt really accept him into my heart till 6th grade
Then this Summer is when I seriously started questioning this so called God
Now I have some belief but not enough
I also shocked the world when my parents heard about it

I dont think demons are real, also I dont believe that he is so against divorce and will hate you if you do it
It seems like her comes with a catch at every corner
He will say yes were all sinners and thats ok but...
You better not divorce, be gay, do this or that, cuss and all these other things

I would be Buddhist, but I see it as more of a philosiphy than a religion. So philisophically, I'm a Buddhist, but religiously, I'm Jewish. I believe in what the torah says, it just clicks with me for some reason. I wasn't forced into it, I actually had to get converted! I don't believe in hell. I believe that no love is a sin, and I believe God loves everyone. Even if you don't believe in God, or if you are Satanic, God still loves you. The only religion I can't take is Scientology. Scientology is a new age form of brainwashing. The other one is Mormonism. They think they want to save me? Save me from what? There's no hell to save me from!

I'm saying that people who comment about Christianity who don't know what they are talking about. Yes, we are all sinners. We are supposed to ask for forgiveness for those sins and we will be forgiven.

What I'm saying is it depends on your religious upbringing. No one know exactly what is right and wrong when it comes to Christianity because theres so many different sub-cultures under Christianity. Just because you think you are right, doesn't mean you are right to everyone else.

Actually, God tells us what the true facts about Christianity in the Bible. And most Christians believe everything that is in the Bible, therefore we have evidence of right and wrong when it comes to our faith.

Actually, God tells us what the true facts about Christianity in the Bible. And most Christians believe everything that is in the Bible, therefore we have evidence of right and wrong when it comes to our faith.

The Bible has been translated thousands of times, there's bound to be some mistakes. The only one that would most likely say EXACTLY what God intended would be the original hand-written Bible, which I don't think is around anymore?
