Religion.

I'm 14, I don't see why it's any different what I believe and what an 18 year old believes?

I'm sorry. Nothing else you have said tonight offended me. Except for this.

That's ridiculous. I'm sorry. But it is. I know what I believe in. I can debate it and i've made a proper religious affiliation.

And that is great that you have that faith, but you must understand that each person in this world is quite different and some even younger than you may have strong faith beliefs and some older than you may still be searching.

When I was 13ish I thought I was atheist when I didn't really even know when it meant except for you didn't believe in God. Now that I'm older and I know more I know that I'm not but I don't have any religious affiliation.

Isn't that the basic idea of being an athiest, not believing in any God?

She might be meaning maturity. I know at age 14, I was still figuring out who I was as a person. That is alot to take in. By the time your 18 or so, you maybe have fingured yourself out and kind of know what you believe in.

BUT, thats not always true. There is always exceptions.

Because young people are more impressionable, but really it doesn't matter. You can believe what you want. You can think for yourself.

When I was 14 I know I would have probably said "being gay is weird and abortions should be illegal" that has change though as I've gotten older and had more life experiences. I haven't changed my belief in God though.

That's what I thought? :confused3

Yea...there isn't a TON to understand about being an athiest, or so I thought. You just don't believe, and that is fine if that is what works for that person. It isn't my job to shove my beliefs down someone's throat. They can choose to believe what they want, even if I disagree. I'm not going to look down on anyone for being an athiest.

There is a TON to understand about religion though.

So then technically, it's a good thing that I already understand what I believe and what I'm here to do in life? I'm confused :(

Yeah. I'm sure that once I get older my views on things may change.
But I guess like, I don't see how I can't have the same beliefs as an 18 year old if that makes sense.

Yeah I agree.
I always wanted to know stories of people that come to realize they don't believe in something anymore, or haven't from the start.

That makes sense. It is good that you already understand what you believe. My friend is Catholic and she is set in her beliefs and she always has been (I've known her since 5th grade). I had a little period where I sincerely questioned the existence of God, but I came back and realized that God does exist and he always has to me.

I think that someone who has never believed in anything has probably the same experience as a Christian who has always believed. It's just the opposite. If that makes sense?

I also can see where people could change their beliefs and not believe anymore.

I'm glad I know what I believe in. Because a lot of people I know are questioning what they believe in, but I know that I can always turn to God for assistance and I'm happy to know he's there for me.

Okay. That's what I hoped it would mean.

Yes that's what I mean. I was generalizing and not trying to be specific. I'm not trying to offend anyone here.

Ahhh yeah. I see what you mean.
That makes a lot of sense actually, so I can see where that comes from.
Okay, that makes sense to me now.

For me, I think it would take a lot of thinking before just changing your opinions on something.

I think I am trying to understand what you are saying, but A Christian has something to fall back on. They have something in there heart whether it be right or wrong to stand by. As for someone who is never believed in anything what do they stand on, just not believing for the sake of not believing? There has to be more there. I am not saying I know that answer, but a person has to have some reasoning during their lifetime of why they exist.

It would definitely take a lot of thinking. I think a lot of people have something bad happen to them and then say "God wasn't there for me" or "How could God let this happen" so they just don't believe anymore. But those people honestly probably didn't have very strong faith to begin with. I feel like I've gone through a lot in my life (divorce, all grandparents dying, my dad having cancer, not being close to my dad because he is bipolar) and I wonder why is all of THIS happening to ME? But then I just think that I have a nice home, a good mom, and there are so many people who have it much worse so I don't think God is punishing me. I think true punishment comes after death though bad circumstances might fall on bad people during their life.

Sorry for rambling haha.
