Religion.

now, now, lets not get offended. besides, im the same way.

like i said, i was raised catholic.......i think i know enough about the religion to judge it..

im not really sure about how many religions do this, but catholics have communion. this is when the priest blesses bread and wine, making it the body and blood of jesus. i think this is absolutely absurd. i mean, doesnt that make them sort of like cannibals? well, it would if it was actually real!

thats just one example. if you want, i could go on, but at this point i dont think thats such a good idea seeing as tempers are starting to rise. may i remind everyone that this is simply a place where people can come to post their views, and that no one is trying to offend anybody?

We have communion too, with grape juice. I like it because it tastes good. I don't think it's absurd, it's a symbolic thing.

You could've had mine. I never could drink that damn grape juice, it was disgusting. And they gave us this little tiny, tasteless cracker thing we were supposed to eat. I just passed it on to my friends.

We get bread! Really good bread too. I probably wouldn't like it if we used crackers.

It wasn't even a whole cracker either. It was the size of a cheez-it. :sad2: And the grape juice was in this little tiny tablespoon sized plastic cup. The cracker tasted and looked like paper.

It was a BIG BIG BIG church, that probably didn't help either. They could've put a tad bit more effort into it.

I'm confused now, I boxed with Jesus, and Kicked his butt...soory Jc...

I haven't seen you post in a really long time.
And when I do, you try to turn a serious subject into a joke again. Stop being immature please.

Our communion isn't that bad.
We use good bread that this lady from our church bakes, and we use real wine that gets watered down.

My church is really small, so it doesn't have that institution-feeling.
Whenever someone new comes we're all like OMG WHO'S THAT??

i am a christian no certian branch cause i don't think there should be i think we all love the same God and that we all believe that jesus is God's son and he has gone to create a place in heaven for us when we get there the diffrent branch's wont be seperated so why seperate yourself now? i beleive compleatly in God but know that i will allways sin and allways have more to learn no matter how hard we try but i also know that God will aways forgive me no matter what and taht he love's all of the people on earth no matter what they worship thoese are just my views
P.S. if anyone wants to know more about God and the christian faith pm me i don't consider myself an expert but i think i wold probably be abble to answer all of your question's

i was raised southern baptist and attended christian school from pre-k through 6th grade.

honestly, after being submerged in the real world, something of which was basically "hidden" from us, it was like a swift kick in the face with an iron boot.

i believe in god, angels, a devil, heaven and hell. but i also believe in a number of other things, some of which is buhdist, taoist, hindi, and wiccan. my "religion" is nothing more to me than a bunch of firm beliefs that i have found to me to be important for life.

Well, that just made me want cheez-its! haha

I am a Christian. I totally believe in God, and I love him. I do believe in heaven and hell, and i do believe in Angels and Devils. I'm not a full on obsessed person over it but I have asked for forgiveness, I do read the bible, and I have been to church, and I believe that when my time comes, I will meet God, face to face. It doesn't bother me when people say I don't believe in God, because its understandable if you don't believe theres a man in the sky, but I don't like it when people try to prove me wrong about the things I believe in or when someone tries to change my mind about my beliefs. I do believe that my great-parents, my sister, and all the rest of the people that i've know that past is in Heaven, there body may be in the ground but they are in heaven. And my mind and beliefs are not going to change:)

I am a Christian. A Christian is defined as Christ follower. I believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God. He came to earth and was mocked and made fun of because people didn't want to believe He WAS the Son of God. They didn't trust Him and thought that everything and anything they thought was right. He died on the cross because that was the only way to take every single sin of ours away. He was the perfect sacrifice. The Bible is The Word of God. He spoke through disciples and men of God to write on paper the things He needed us to know. The things in the Bible are not always easy to understand, and I know that...but when you do understand it all makes sense. The Word of God is like our manual to life. To those who believe, He is our heavenly father. He loves every single person on earth, but it is so much more precious to Him when we have a strong relationship with him. For example, your earthly father loves you and really wants to spend time with you. You always say "yeah okay dad, when I'm ready". He just goes with it and waits for you to make the decision to talk to him and spend time with him. That's the same thing with God. It may be hard to understand, but when you get to that place of understanding what it's really all about, you start thinking that maybe this is true, or maybe God does love me. It's all about faith. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight." - Proverbs 3:5
QUOTE]

I really like how it was put right here. I'm a Christian. I try to live my life as god-like as possible. And i'm nowhere near being a great Christian. But, I try.

And i'm here too. If you wanna chat it up about religion or anything. I'll whip out my bible for you. I don't have all the answers. Yet He does. Or I can find them for you. So. yeah. Definately post. or More definately PM me.

I am a christian. I have been for most of my life. I believe that Jesus died for our sins, and that God created the heavens and the earth and all of that. I know people who are atheists. I know people who are agnostic. I respect their beliefs. But one of my friends, who is atheist, is actually starting to wonder whether their is a God and she is curious and not completely ruling out the fact that there may be a higher power. Which is extremely cool, IMO.

Funny story about communion. Today in communion, I was taking my little cup of juice, and accidentally spilled it all over myself and my "little brother", as I like to call him. I felt like such an idiot.

I'm Athiest, but my parents raised me as a catholic; I began thinking about everything as I got mature...I really didn't like what the catholic church taught. The whole idea of a God and a heaven and hell never really made sense to me. IMO, I think that the whole afterlife thing is made up, we live our whole lives living in fear if we go to heaven or not. It's weird how people always preach that you'll go to hell if you don't do this or that. For now, I'm just living my life, taking it as it comes. I'm not a bad person, it's just that religions really don't make sense to me.

I do believe in Heaven. But I don't really know if I believe in Hell. I don't really think God would do that to anyone. If what is said in the Bible is true, then God created everyone, even those that do bad things.

And, also, for people that lived a terrible life, Heaven could be like Hell, because they would know they wouldn't deserve to be there.

I believe in something after this life, I just don't know what. Nobody really does know for sure. That's one of the only things I do question.
