Relentless Forward Motion (a.k.a. Running towards 40)

Hey Amy!! WTG for getting back into and running this week! You deserved the rest after the Goofy! SOunds like your week has been pretty busy, make sure you get some rest as well.

Hope the LR goes well this weekend!

Hi, Amy! Wow, I am beyond exhausted just reading about your schedule! How do you do all that exercise and still have the energy to do the other stuff life requires? I am in awe of your pace and how much you get accomplished every day!:worship:

Glad you are feeling better and getting the activities done that you want to do. Hope you have a good one!

Susan

WOW woman slow down there, I am pooped just reading your post.Yogalates- a real thing? It is a combo class I assume, sounds good.

Great job on getting back to running. The treadmill is tough when you want to be outside, ice and rain here today.

Thanks for your thoughts on my journal, appreciated as always,
Linda

Hi Amy,

Glad to hear that you're feeling better!:goodvibes That's quite a workout schedule! Way to go!:cheer2:

Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi guys...just posting my weekly update! My numbers weren't where I wanted them. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday...my roads were icy and just a plain mess. So my runs suffered. I did manage to get on the treadmill and ski machine but didn't come close to the 12 miles I wanted to hit this week. I'm building back up slowly from Goofy starting with 12 miles and adding a mile or two each week!!!

I plan to head out for a 3 Mile run at some point...then into NYC....then to my sister's for Super Bowl. I'm sure I'll be eating GREAT today...:rolleyes1 NOT!

Anyway...I'll add the short run I'm squeezing in today before I leave....

Monday: 90 Pilates
Tuesday: 90 Pilates
Wednesday: Run 3; 60 Pilates
Thursday: 20 min. walk; 60 Pilates; 60 Yoga
Friday: 30 min ski machine; 60 Fusion Flow
Saturday: 90 Yogalates/Pilates; 30 min ski machine
Sunday: Run 3

Miles Ran: 6 :(
Cardio XT: 80 minutes
Pilates/Yoga: 8 1/2 hours  NO WONDER my body is just aching today.
Classes Taught: 8
Classes Taken (taught by others): 3

Next Week's Goals:
Run: 12 Miles
Classes: 1 Spin Class; 1 yoga class, 2 Pilates classes, 1 yogalates class
Other: 30-60 minutes cardio xt

WOW....looking at those numbers I really have to stop taking so many of my own classes!!! Some days I teach 3 classes..so estimated how much of them involved work. But even demonstrating exercises over 3 classes REALLY adds up! I need to be more careful about doing too much in my own classes or else my body is going to rebel for sure!!!

Thanks for stopping by. GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job with everything Amy!!!

Have a great time today in the city and then at the Super Bowl gathering :goodvibes:

My prediction? Giants 35, Patriots 31 :)

Wow woman,

You may not have run as many miles as planned, but you sure put in the exercise. I am sore just thinking about it. I hope you enjoy your party and the food tonight.

Take care,
Beth

Hi, Amy. Just posting to say hello and see how your weekend went. Hope you enjoyed your party and can get into the training schedule you want to have this week. You do so much other than running, it is amazing (I know I use that word a lot in your journal, but nothing else seems to fit). Anyway, hope you have a great day!

Susan

HI ya! I'm back from WDW...Just checking in to see how you were while I was away! Yeah...what the others said about your training schedule!!! GOOD LORD! That is a crazy number of hours for pilates! Even thought you didn't get your runs in like you wanted, you still rocked it!!!

Stacie

LET'S GO GIANTS!!!!! I still can't believe they won last night..it was awesome!!

Don't worry about the miles...you have plenty of time to get ready for the Minnie weekend! Just ease your way back into your training.

I see that you have the Teterboro Airport race on your schedule this year....have you ever done that race before???

Hi Amy,

That was some game on Sunday night! :thumbsup2 I am so glad the Giants won!:cheer2:

You did a great job with exercise last week! I know that you didn't log the miles in that you wanted to, but you did a lot of XT work. Way to go, Amy!:cheer2:

Hey Amy,

I was just wondering how our resident energizer bunny was up to.

Hope all is well.

Take care,
Beth

HI Amy! Just checking in... Running, spinning, pilates... Update! Update!

Stacie

Hi Amy,
What's happening in Jersey? Looks like it may be decent out today-yesterday more snow :(

I got the book Marathoning For Mortals and it talks about post race letdown- do you feel like you have gone through that to a degree?

I just saw the pictures on your old journal, I don't know how I missed them before.AWESOME! How is it that you get your picure taken? Does everyone who passes certain points get a picture?

Thanks for the reply about CA.,I answered in my last post.

Have a great one,
Linda

 Hello everyone! Thanks for checking in on me. Just here to update my week of training. I have to say that my body is not happy with me :(. I'm pushing very hard each week and I feel it now. My shoulder seems to be injured and my elbow is sore....neck was a mess this week and even a deep tissue massage didn't help. Matter of fact I think it made matters worse!!!

Linda: Yeah..definite post-race let down. :( I miss being in Disney. There is so much about the races that I loved...it was very very special this time around. Trying to get back into the swing of things has been a little tough. And wow..the weather was crazy here. I went out for my run and it was actually quite nice THEN the head winds smacked me in the face. Last 3 miles were tough due to the wind. As for pictures...they have photographers along the course AND we brought a camera too ;).

So here is what the week looked like. Kind of light on miles again....

Monday: Taught 3 classes....did way too much in all those classes.
Tuesday: 3 Mile Run; 1.5 hours with my Pilates Trainer; Taught 2 classes
Wednesday: Hour Spinning Class; Hour advanced level mat Pilates class
Thursday: 4 Mile run; Taught and Took Pilates Fusion Class (weights/yoga/pilates)
Friday: Taught another Pilates Fusion Flow Class. By now my shoulder is throbbing :(. Took the rest of the day off.
Saturday: Taught Pilates...took the rest of the day off.
Sunday: 6 Mile Run in 59:56...just barely under a 10 mpm. Felt very tired.

So....13 miles running....many hours working out in total. Just a long week.

Next week I plan to...

take another Spin Class; Run 13+ Miles; Take one each yoga, pilates mat, pilates apparatus class. And of course teach 8 classes this week. Hope I don't feel as bad this time around. I have to figure out if this is going to work for me...maybe I need to reassess my workouts, etc. :confused3

Thanks again for the support. :sunny:

Hey Amy! Sorry to hear your body is revolting against you....I know it is hard, but you are constantly on the go, and you may need to cut back a little bit. You don't want to overdo it! Please take care of your body!!

I didn't make it to the trail today...I can imagine how bad the wind was...I walked outside this morning, and I about got blown over! Glad to hear you got your run in!

Hang in there!!!

I know you are pushing hard each week but PLEASE try to take care of yourself while you are working out so much. Listen to any type of injury and take the right action to help yourself out. I know you know how to take care of things when they hurt...I'd like to run the next race with you in one piece :)

I miss Disney too...what an incredible weekend!! Only 12 weeks until the next visit to WDW...Minnie weekend is gonna be AWESOME!! (camera will be in tow again!)

You are just so busy Amy...I know you are doing an incredible job with your Pilates profession, you are being an awesome mother and you are training yet again for races...and maybe even a triathalon! Take care of yourself and try not to get all stressed out making so many things happen.

I think the world of you and want you to stay safe and healthy.

With that said, you had an awesome week last week (despite the nagging injuries, aches and pains)...and I wish you the best for this week coming up.

OK AmyBeth...(Stern face here) I am not happy that your body is not happy w/ you young lady!!! :goodvibes

Please be careful. I won't repeat everything Scott said, cuz I think he said it all, but seriously. Please don't push yourself too much and get injured! We care about you and do not want to see our little energizer bunny with a hurt paw!

I will say Yay! for all you have done! It is absolutely amazing how much you get done. You make me feel so lazy!!!

Great work out week there Amy, but IMHO, it wouldn't hurt to scale it back just a bit.

Hope you had a great weekend and hope you can recoup a little bit this week and are a little less sore. How is the shoulder now??

Stay well,
Stacie

 Amy,

I won't lecture because you know you need to listen to your body.;)

Hope you are feeling better.

Take care,
Beth

Wow...so that was one seriously cold and snowy 3 miler yesterday. But I got it in along with some serious pilates work. My trainer taught a class and it was sooo kick butt. She's so amazing, I aspire to be like her when I grow up! :goodvibes

So today was supposed to be spin class and pilates. Unfortunately, the ice, snow, and kids being home changed those plans. Now I have to rework my schedule for this week. I do have an interview at a high-end fitness center/spa here that also has a large pool area. I could really use a job at a place like that for pool access as well as client base. Hopefully I can still get to the interview. :upsidedow

Other than that I may have to put the miles in on the ski machine (ugh!) and do one of my dvds.

Hope everyone has a great day.
