momof2beautys said:We were in Magic Kingdom on Sunday, September 25th. We had an early breakfast with Cinderella and we were at the rope behind 2 families for the rope drop. Both families were wanting to wake up Tinkerbell. They were arguing before the rope even dropped because the one family said the other family had cheated and gotten into the park early by telling them they had a breakfast reservation. Anyway, I knew about waking Tinkerbell and thought my girls would like to see it even if we were not the first ones there. The rope dropped and the two families sprinted for the shop, dragging their kids behind them. One of the kids was hurt and crying by the time they got into the store. The CM let all 3 girls wake up Tinkerbell since they were arguing about it. Waking up Tinkerbell was nothing special! You waved the little wand, said "Wake up Tinkerbell" 3 times, and some little lights lit up on the wall which lasted all of 3 seconds. The girls who did it were in such a daze from the race to the store that they did not even seem to care about waking Tinkerbell. My husband and I both said "That's it?" We were very upset about witnessing the whole thing. It was not a magical way to start our trip. We felt bad that our girls even saw the total chaos of everyone running to the store, the tears, the upset adults, everything. It was ridiculous! I hope Disney will stop this madness very soon! I also want to say that we stopped back into the store later that afternoon and the CM was very friendly and showed my girls how Tinkerbell was flying all over the store and how you could see her pop into the dresser drawer for a second and then fly off again. I'm sure they enjoyed this more than they would have enjoyed waking her up. Parents are going crazy over something so silly and it is completely out of control.
We were behind the rope the same as you. We also went into the store but only because dd wanted a crown. She did watch her get woken up, but all she said was its just a little light...I think this is great for the reall little ones, but not to the point where moms are pushing and shoving. There is no need of that!
