Relay For Life

Ok our youth group is on a team at our local relay this month and I was wondering if anyone had any cool things we could sell or a game or something to the effect of that any tips would be great

I would love to hear them

I think we have the food and the taken care of we need something else

this is the first yr the youth group has had a team we have always gone with the church so I would love to see it go great

We sell flip flops with fleece strips tied where the straps are. I don't have a pic, but it is a huge hit and we make a good profit from those. Kind of need time to make them or at least make the fleece strips and tie them on site.

We also have baskets that we sell raffle tickets and people drop their chances in there. This yeare we've got a Webkins basket, Starbucks basket, instant lottery tickets basket, movie basket with DVD, popcorn, candy what not...that kind of stuff.

If it is going to be hot, the big hit at one of our hotter events was one team that was selling popsicles. Oh they made a haul. No one else had that one. You'd need dry ice and some protective stuff for that.

Over night, early a.m. one of the teams was selling FRESH Starbucks coffee. The store supplies the dispensars and a cup of coffe first thing in a.m. was good and late at night too.

One young team had a curtain set up with a fishing pole for little kids who would "fish" someone would be on the other side of the curtain hooking small cute things onto their poles.

thanks had it a good idea we just had a carnival in the church parking lot last summer and have all kinds of games and stuff

I love the starbuck idea they had sweet tea last yr that's reallly big around here

I will mention it to out captian in the morning thanks a bunch

I will let you know how it turns out

our theme is superheros so if you can think of something to go with that that would be great

ours is 2 wks away so I think we could do the baskets or starbuck easliy(sp)
there is a starbuck like less than a mile from the track

i did RFL with my youth group this year! Bless your heart! I was soooo tired the next day! geesh!

we asked the people in our church to make baskets and we sold tickets ($1 a piece) AT church and at the event! good luck!

Hey guys just wanted to let you know how it went

this was our first yr as a youth group and we made $2,500 all together which is great for a first yr we did face paining and brought a fire pit and sold smores and they could make there own

it was a blast I don't know what I would have done without my friends there dancing and playing games I think that is what keep me awake we own our volleyball game and sang karaoke(sp) My girl which was more fun than I thought it would be

all together the grand total we

$150,592.82

and our goal was

$130,000.00

We went over YEAH ! ! ! !

well I'm soo tired lol I have only slept 5 hrs in the last 38 hrs

I know you will be back next year since you had such a fun time this year. I enjoy doing this event too.

Our youth leader had ovarian cancer when she was 18 so for her to see all her "kids" (we joke that we are all little baby chicks and she is the momma she is always counting heads) walk and raising money to find cancer made her very proud we got a bronze sign that we are hanging in our youth room at church

I will finally be caught but on sleep tonight
