This will be our first trip to our home resort.. we will be flying in around 345 so I dont plan on leaving the resort once we arrive "home" any good ideas on what to do the first night at the resort.. ?

Have dinner at Sanaa. The food is great and it has great atmosphere. I'd head out and watch the animals by the fire. And then I'd head to Jambo for a night cap at their bar. We did that our first night at Kidani and had a great time.:thumbsup2

I second the recommendation to have dinner at Sanaa. We ate there 3 times on our trip earlier this month (we were kind of forced to because of my bum leg, but we were more than pleasantly surprised!!!!)

DD 11 loves Boma so much that she's insisting our family eat there when we're in Orlando at Christmas for an offsite visit. Depending where you are at Kidani it can be a hike, but if the weather is nice and warm it's an easy walk. Then just walk around the balconies and viewing stations at AKL and Kidani.
Oh, and of course, go enjoy that pool! It's really, really nice. We really loved the resort.

we are staying in Jambo.. we have a ressie for BOma on our last night before we switch over to BCV.. Sanna looks nice but I have 3 kids that are picky eaters.. pool looks amazing... as does the pool bar!

My picky son loved Sanaa. He ate the hamburger with roasted potatoes once and the grilled chicken breast with rice twice. My daughter is less picky and after trying the hamburger and chicken as well, she opted for the green curry shrimp on our last visit. And both kids LOVED the naan bread - think of pita bread but lighter and puffy/crispy in spots and brushed with melted clarified butter. They loved being able to look out at the animals too and we spent some time down at the firepit before our meal. I can't help but think a visit here would really make you feel at "home" and capture the spirit of the resort. And I'm not sure how old your kids are, but the pool and splash area are just great for younger kids - do make a visit to the pool even if you skip Sanaa!

I love nights when I can stay at AKV. I always go to the Cultural Safari given by a CM about their homeland. I've always learned something and have met the nicest people! Then I go and look at the animals with the night vision goggles.
