Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

My internet has been down at home for the last couple days so I've only been able to get on the DIS at work...which is limited at best. So I was a bit behind!!!

My favourite first ride to do at MK is most definitely Space Mountain or, if it's down (which seems to happen more often than not) it has to be Splash Mountain. Both ridiculously amazing rides :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I know I'm a little late for this but....

:dance3: HAPPY TWO WEEKS! :dance3:

If it helps ease your mind, both of my room requests were honored :)

We don't have a first ride at the MK, we have a first "thing" which of course is the Main Street Barber. After that it's go with the flow based on what folks want to do.

You most definitely can!
Yay! One stop shopping!

No worries, how is the new job going??

It's never too late to celebrate TWO WEEKS!!

It does make me feel a little better. :rotfl2: Marc really needs a haircut but he doesn't want to go the barber shop on Main St. Boo.

13 days sounds WAY better than 14 days. :rotfl2:

In Two Weeks....

I think this is what we'll be doing...who knows what is actually going to happen when we get there though. I'm 99% sure we'll be adding the hopper to Marc's ticket so we might be hopping all over the place. ;)

Rope Drop @ Epcot.

Our first ride will be Soarin'. :cloud9: I'm so excited for Soarin'. I love it, Marc loves it and I hope to ride 50 times this day. ;)

Living with the Land, Spaceship Earth, Test Track and other Future World delights. We'll see what happens basically. Marc is thinking about riding Mission Space as well. :scared1:

Head to Le Cellier @ 11:20ish. No, I haven't secured an ADR but I think I might try to get in for lunch here.

If not, Les Chefs de France for lunch @ 12PM. Though, I'm not attached to this ADR. Heck, at this point we might decide to hop somewhere, head to Riverside for a swim or maybe try for a completely different ADR. The sky is the limit!

I do know for sure that we'll be back at Epcot in time for our Rose & Crown ADR. I can't wait to share Rose & Crown with Marc. I think he is going to love it. I don't care if we sit inside or out. I think we are going to split the warm salad, then split the fish & chips. YUM! I can't wait. It's my very favorite Epcot eating establishment.

After dinner, who knows. We might stay for Illuminations or might we not. If I had to make an educated guess... I'd say we might end up over at Hollywood Studios for the 10PM Fantasmic. But again, who knows. I'm going with the flow on this trip and doing what we feel like doing. :thumbsup2

As far as Epcot goes, what is your traditional first ride and favorite eating place?

Even though it's totally against insider park touring guidelines ;) I love nothing more than to ride on Spaceship Earth first.

And I don't really have a traditional eating spot as much as Mom, Nana, and I would always go to France and get a glass of champagne and toast...well, being together. That's one of my fondest memories, how many times I've done that. :goodvibes

If I go to Epcot and I haven't made it in time for Rope Drop then Spaceship Earth is my first ride. I have a hard time passing it by if it's open and running. :rotfl:

That is a very nice tradition. I love how we all love Disney World so much, yet we all have very different traditions. It just goes to show how versatile a Disney vacation can be. :thumbsup2

Me, too. It's just such a relaxing ride, although I do miss Jeremy Irons' narration so much. Dame Judy Dench is lovely, but just not the same.

And I love reading about different people's traditions, which is why I love the DIS! :goodvibes

I have to agree... 13 days sounds INFINITELY better than 14! :thumbsup2

For folks who initially didn't think that hopping was their style you sure are planning to do a whole lotta hoppin. ;) I think it's great. I love the flexibility! I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Here again I don't really have any firm traditions. Which makes me think I need to get some! :rotfl:

I am usually staying at Beach Club so like TK, my first move is usually for some champagne and a welcome to WDW toast. Did you know that the champagne kiosk does not open right at 11 with the rest of WS? I did... :rolleyes1 :upsidedow

My favorite ride is definitely Soarin. I wonder how many rides a person could feasibly complete in a day? Could you do 50? Think anyone has ever tried? But also like TK, I'd say SE screams "Epcot" the most to me. It's just rarely my first agenda item since I'm usually entering through the WS.

As for favorite dining establishment that would be like asking me to choose between my children (if I had any ;)). I am a big fan of Le Cellier, R&C, Chefs, Tutto and Mexico (counter more than sit down). I would love to try Teppan Edo, Via Napoli, Morocco and the fancy French restaurant I can't remember the name of but there are only so many meals in a trip!! :confused3

So, so, so very excited for your trip. You guys are going to have a great time! I've forgotten, have you already told us if you'll be doing live FB or twitter updates? It's always so fun to follow along when a DIS friend is in the World! :goodvibes

what a fun first day! We don't have a tradition on the first ride, part of it depends on what time we get there and we adjust accordingly. I do think SE is a great first ride!

50 times on Soarin'!

That would be a feat. I can't wait to see how many you pull off. We didn't do any sit down lunches so I'm not a whole lot of help there but we do love Tutto and Teppan! If I was looking for a sit down, I'd try getting into Via Napoli!

Sounds like a great day! We always shoot to Soarin as well. It is awesome! Then a little Figment, a little Nemo, FP for TT. We have only eaten at one table service WS. You are welcome, people without kids!:rotfl:
It was R&C. I loved it BUT we are not going to repeat. I think we are shooting for only one TS meal that is not family-style or buffet because I have 2 under 3 and we need them to eat for free! So it looks like it will be LeCellier for lunch. But it may be Chefs de France in France or I may get wild and make it Marrakesh just to ensure we get that far around WS! :confused3
Is Remy still at CdF? That would be a big hit with my 3 but my mom would probably hate it. She HATES that movie because of the thought of rats in a kitchen. It totally skeeves her out!

No worries, how is the new job going??

It's going. Still training. It's a LOT to absorb but hopefully by the end of it, I'll be ready for the real thing.

You actually got a good picture of her! This is the gal Liesa said I should be for Halloween :lmao:

Head to Le Cellier @ 11:20ish. No, I haven't secured an ADR but I think I might try to get in for lunch here.

Good luck! That time is probably more likely for you to get in. Plus you're small party so your chances are good.

As far as Epcot goes, what is your traditional first ride and favorite eating place?

Soarin', Soarin', Soarin', Soarin', and.... oh yeah, Soarin' :rotfl2:

Favourite eating place is Le Cellier (I just love the Mushroom Filet and Maple Creme Brulee -- and the service is great too ;) )

Me, too. It's just such a relaxing ride, although I do miss Jeremy Irons' narration so much. Dame Judy Dench is lovely, but just not the same.

We'll see on the hopping. We might not. It all depends on what we decide once we get down there.

I will not be doing FB or Twitter updates this trip. I really want to focus on Marc & I during this trip and while I love to keep everyone in the loop, I get really distracted by doing those updates. I want to soak in every little piece of magic that I can.

I'll try for 5 rides on Soarin' in one day, that sounds more realistic. :lmao:

Probably not that many. :lmao: But it sure will be fun to try. :rotfl:

I've heard such great things about Tutto, I want to eat there someday.

13 days!!! Holy crap the time is flying by!!

First ride in Epcot...it has always been Spaceship Earth! Combination of the big Epcot ball staring you in the face and it just feels like I'm in Epcot when I'm on that ride...plus, once I'm in World Showcase, we usually never come back and ride anything on the Future side.
Favorite eating place..lately it has been Beaches and Cream...but we love us some Fish and Chips from the Yorkshire Fish Shop! :thumbsup2

At Epcot, the first place we head for is Soarin'! It literally takes my breath away when you first lift off. The music is so beautiful too. We typically grab FP's first then jump in the standby line.

My favorite CS place at Epcot is hands down Sunshine Seasons. My DH and I typically split the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and get the strawberry shortcake for dessert. Amazing!!! For TS meals...it's quite a toss up. We did Le Cellier last year and (no flames please!) we just kind of liked it. The beer cheese soup always get rave reviews on the DIS, but we just didn't like it. We've had better here at home. However, the pretzel bread was amazing. We both had the filet and it was good. We did Akershus for breakfast and it was just a typical breakfast for us, except the potatoes!!!! Yum!

My fav growing up was Alfredo's (rest in peace). It was a tradition. We're trying Garden Grill and Via Napoli next month, so maybe one of those will become my fav Epcot TS meal.

Don't forget that Yorkshire Pudding at R&C ;)
Hmmmmm first place I head...either TT or Soarin.....although SE really IS Epcot....and it reminds me of when I was young. And didn't like Epcot
Oooh favorite eatery.....Le Cellier, The Ditch (they do have food ;)) Biergarten, Rose and Crown....too hard to choose...I spend a lot of time eating in WS!! :rotfl2:

Tracy

YAY for 13 days!! WOOT WOOT!!! So excited for you!!!

Hmmmm...first ride...well it depends on the Park...if it's EPCOT I go on Soarin, if it's Animal Kingdom I go on the Safari, if DHS...definitely TSM, and Magic Kingdom...of course HM LOL!!!

OOOH...Rose and Crown is one of my favorites, as is Brown Derby...love them both always make a ressie at both LOL!!!

After the last two trips, my first ride is almost always going to be Soarin! Depends if I get there at rope drop. Otherwise Spaceship Earth!

Favorite restaurant? I agree, almost like picking my favorite child! I've been lucky enough to enjoy almost every meal and not have any really bad ones. We loved Teppan Edo and LeCellier, but I think I'd go with either Tutto Italia or Chefs de France. They were great! It's all really too hard to pick! There's a couple left I want to try, but I'd go back to any of those again for sure!!

I'm glad you're not doing FB updates if it's just you and Marc. I was able to do some only because I would be waiting for the kids or something, so I had a few minutes here and there. I think it's important that the two of you really enjoy your trip and not be concerned with the rest of the world!!! Just keep a good journal for the TR!! ;)
