Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

I'm sure I'm going to lose Disney points for this, but my vote for cheesiest attraction goes to Carousel of Progress. Yes, it has its charming points and some beautiful sets and animatronics, but it always just strikes me as a big commerical for appliances (which it sort of was when GE originally sponsered it at the World's Fair). I know a lot of DISers here love it, and while I enjoy it for the most part, I just can't help but think about how cheesy it is whenever I ride it.

i think i must agree with Marc and go with Maelstrom ... honestly, i just hate that attraction! im not too sure what it is that makes me dislike it so much. :confused3
I think it's a bit silly, not up to Disney caliber at all.

Cheesiest? The Jungle Cruise, but I would not have it any other way! I just love the dumb jokes!
Certain Disney cheese is good!

Hmmm...I haven't done Tiki or Country Bears, but I imagine they are both high on the cheese factor.

I think Ellen is pretty cheesy. It's cool in a way, I do like the moving theater and the dinosaurs, but the REALLY BAD Ellen AA is just absurd. It makes me laugh just thinking about it. :rotfl: Plus the whole movie line to it with her playing Jeopardy is pretty cheese-tastic. Overall, I think the attraction is okay-not terrible, not great. It does mean 45 minutes of sitting and air conditioning which can be a very, very good thing. ::yes::
Ellen is very cheesy, and that animatronic is AWFUL looking, not pretty at all.

Ellen would definitley win for least favorite animatronic. For a modern AA it looks nothing like her.
Agreed!

You guys really came up with some unusual/interesting categories for your countdown! :worship: Love it!!

Cheesy. Hmmm. I agree with both of you. My favorite part of Maelstrom is that little "village" where you dock at the end. That seems so quaint and charming I could spend lots of time there.

Tiki Room is cheesy in FL. I really enjoyed it in CA. There's even a Dole Whip stand with a "special" counter for Tiki viewers. And you can take your Dole Whip into the show. Perfect escape from the heat and sun!

I'd have to add Jungle Cruise to cheesy but it's a good cheese.

I think Spaceship Earth has a cheese element too... but love it.

22 days!! :cheer2:
Thank you! We had a lot of fun coming up with everything. :goodvibes

The village at the end of Maelstrom is very quaint, I do like that.

Spaceship Earth does have a cheese element too, but it's a good cheese like Jungle Cruise I think.

Hmm, that's a hard one. I say the cheesiest has to be Maelstrom...
It really is.

Happy 22 days!!
for favorite animatronic - the "two brothers" at the American Adventure...makes me choke up EVERY time....how awful a time that must have been for our country...
and I do like the man with the hairy leg on PoTC....brings back memories of going to Disney as a chile

Most cheesiest - the country bear jambore....we saw the christmas version in 2001 and it was much better....I think it would benefit from an update :confused3

Sorry about your shirts...that stinks
I don't think I knew that Country Bears had a Christmas version, do they still do that??

My favorite is the "ladies for sale" in POTC. I don't know why...I think they remind me of a being a kid and I didn't get what they were then but I definitely remember them!
I love the ladies for sale too, that is a very good one. It does seem so wrong now though but I think that is why I love it. :lmao:

Mary Ellen!!!!! I can't believe you posted that picture of that fish again!!!!
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: ;)

Hmmmm cheesy....Is Primevil Hurl cheesy? A little I think....so bright and carnivaly...I know it is designed that way...but it has a bit of cheese factor to me. Now I want some cheese and wine :lmao:

So funny you mentioned that about Sig!! He was there 2 years ago a few days before I arrived...I would have loved to meet him...it was him and Edgar!! :goodvibes

Tracy
I really want to meet Sig. I think he goes down to Disney about once a year and does greets. Have you heard the rumor that he might be on Dancing with the Stars? I hope he is!

You guys have some great countdowns!! Okay highest cheese factor, hmmmm I think the Universe of Energy is pretty cheesy....got love Ellen and her Jeopardy game....I enjoy the ride, but it is cheesy LOL!!!!!
Thank you. The ride is cheesy but enjoyable.

Okay LL, :faint: I finally got caught up after two weeks away!

First WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOT on the Poly! YAY for a special couple nights there what FUN! :goodvibes

I saw all your contests and best and worst lists, but there are so many and I was so behind I won't participate on those I missed, but I will from here on out! So I gather that you and Mark are going to be a 50s sock hop couple for Halloween? TOOOO cute! OH and bummer on the shirts, but like Jen said "don't sweat the small stuff!" CAN'T believe you are just three weeks away!! WOWSERS!!!! :yay: Very exciting.

Looking forward to these final days and sharing in your excitement!!
We are! I'm very excited about dressing up!

Drive-by Hello!! :car:

Kathy
Hi!!

Love all the Poly pictures MEK and MeMom posted! I bet you are super excited now!

Okay, I have to laugh -- Maelstrom and the Tiki Birds are some of Connor's favorite rides/attractions as well as Stitch which ranks for me as the cheesiest ride. He has a very unique taste in Disney attractions.
I am even more excited...if that is even possible. :rotfl:

Oh, Connor! I have to meet that guy someday. You always make me laugh with his antics.
Ok, I'm few days behind. Shocking I know!

My favorite animatronic is sooooooooo hard for me! I love all of CoP so much, but Mr Potato Head is super cool, but I love the graveyard scene in HM especially the singing heads (do those count?), I could go on but I'll spare you!

Cheesiest ride?! NONE! Justing kidding! I love me some cheese! I'm going to go with Country Bears! But, I love it, especially because it's one of the things I remember from my trip as a kid!

I love that MaryEllen snuck the picture of the scary fish in again! :lmao:

I have more poly pics for you! Coming soon!
Country Bears are very cheesy, even more so now that I'm an adult.

I can't believe she snuck it in again either!!

:faint: Just kidding! :lmao: It is cheesy but I love it, just can't help it.

not sure if they still do that...this was back in 2001...hopefully they do, I remember it being cute and the animals had Santa hats on - LOL

Hmmm...I'm going to have to research this. One more potential reason to want to visit during the holidays!

I think the cheesiest to me is the Jungle Cruise, but I like to think it's intentionally cheesy. :goodvibes

Drive-by Hello!! :car:

Kathy
 This really made me laugh!!!

Re: Sig....yes I saw that about DWTS!! That would be something!! I also saw that he is making an appearance in Danbury CT at the end of September....I have a friend that lives in CT that is a DC fan too so I will see if she knows anything about it. :goodvibes

Tracy

We definitely didn't see it in December. It was just the regular Country Bears show. I think the Christmas show disappeared like the summer vacation show they used to run.
That's too bad. It's probably not popular enough to put in all the work to change it over.

Yes, a good cheese for sure!

 This really made me laugh!!!

I found out this morning he's going to be in Lowell, MA on SEPTEMBER 11th...which just so happens to be when I'll be in Florida. :sad2:

Mary Ellen!!!!! I can't believe you posted that picture of that fish again!!!!
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: ;)

What I can't believe is that I actually found it so easily in photobucket! Sorry, I couldn't resist.

So cheesiest ride.......

I'm going with the Country Bear Jamboree. Is that what's its called? Tiki birds are pretty cheesy, too! I have seen each of them once and that is enough!

Sorry for no post yesterday. I had a busy day.

Can I tell you how excited I am for TWENTY days.:banana::banana:

I owe you two countdowns today and because I'm wicked hungry today we are going to talk about more food from '08.

Favorite Character Meal of '08.

We have the same answer....Liberty Tree Tavern.

Yum! The food was super yummy, simple yet good. The character interaction was wonderful, plus they were dressed in Colonial clothes. It doesn't get much better than that for me. I am so sad they don't have characters at LTT anymore. :sad1:

Favorite Breakfast of '08

Again, we have the same answer....Crystal Palace.

It was great yummy breakfast food. We both really enjoyed our selections....who doesn't love Breakfast Pizza? :yay:

I think that is it. Phew. Hopefully I won't have a lot of homework after class tonight so I can get everything done!

Be sure to bring your dancing shoes tomorrow, we are in the TEENS!

HOORAY! party: party: this PTR is almost over and the TR is going to be coming soon! party:
the TEENS ! Can you believe it?!
i really wish i would have gotten the chance to have a character meal at liberty tree. everyone has said such wonderful things about it! Minnie looks so cute :cutie: dressed up all colonial!
i love your list. it is SUPER helpful to me since i have about the same days left as you (well, about 10 more .. but still, in the same ballpark!)
cant wait to see pics of your costumes! :goodvibes

Our favorite character meals are only breakfast meals. We haven't done any dinners (we are HUGE breakfast lovers). It's definately a tie between Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. When it was time to think about ADR's for next month, those were the two requests from my DH and DD.

We're also very excited to be eating at Garden Grill, 'Ohana and CRT for the first time next month (GG and CRT are dinners).

Awww, MEK doesn't like the Tiki Birds. :rotfl2: I like them but they are uber cheesy.

I really really want to try Garden Grill. I don't even know why, I think it might be the novelty of eating at a rotating restaurant. :lmao:

We wanted to try something new and with a 7yo, you can never have too many characters meals! Besides, who doesn't want to eat with Chip & Dale!!!
