3 days until Kirsteen's 40th celebration in WDW!!!!!!! ​

I am just not getting much sleep now was up pretty late last night whilst everyone else in the house slept like babies...everything that needs done has been done and I've got too much time on my hands now, good job I have to go to work tomorrow that'll give me something to do until 5PM

Well folks we're checked in online for both flight, Niamh is currently needing scraped off of the ceiling and I keep mentally checking that we have packed everything. My dad is picking us up at 8am tomorrow morning and taking us the the airport so really all I need to do now is tell you all I'll miss you guys and think of you often, just wish you were all coming too

So, where did we leave off? Oh that’s right; waking up to this

Now we had just stayed 5 amazing nights at the OKW in a GV and we not expecting any sort of view in the least but when we woke up to the above we were in plain giddy shock! Like kid on Christmas morning shock. Nate had brewed us his delicious coffee so we adults sat on the the patio, watched the animals, and took it all in. It was amazing. The kids were up as well, enjoyed some cereal, and gawked at the animals. It was going to be a GREAT day.

Great aside from the fact that Keith and Tracy were heading home today. We decided to meet at the Beach Club so they could show us their beloved home away from home. Our plan today was to hit DTD so the kids could build their Dinosaurs and eat at Earl of Sandwich. Little did I know truly that by 3:00 today, I would own DVC!

While waiting for K and T on the pier:

A little BCV which is INSANE!!! I dug the little bit of it that I saw and after we stay THV and SSR, the BCV will be our next stop!

I am always sad when it comes to goodbyes. Little did I know I would be seeing Keith again in 3 short months!!! We bid farewell and shared lots of hugs……………………..


Onto DTD, first stop, a VERY packed Earl of Sandwich. I think today was by far the hottest day this trip. We grabbed 2 tables on the patio, by the fountains, and the kids cooled down. Earl was good and a decent bargain by WDW standards. We all walked away fat and happy.

We tooled around DTD for a bit, checking out the toy shop and some others. Chloe was in one of the moods where she wanted to buy something, anything but could not decide what. My sweet girl gets SO indecisive it’s maddening at best. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to make a Dino and wanted to check out her other options.

After making the Dinos we did a little more shopping. Gab found a great store she wanted to go into so I told the others I would catch up with them and stay with her. She and I had lots of fun. I wish I remembered the name of the shop. Oooo, let me check Disneyworld.com

Couldn’t find the name but it’s a women’s store with clothes, bags, and lots of eclectic goodies! Gab found a great bracelet and a purse. On the way out to catch up with the others, Michael asked me if I would like to go on the DVC tour at SSR. *thud* OMG! Seriously? I asked him! He said yes and before I could ask about the kids he said Jenna offered to take them. Gotta love that girl!!!! I was in shock for about 20 minutes after. This is what I remember: DVC, FPs for the tour, we’ll take the kids swimming at Kidani…….I don’t even remember Michael and I walking to kiosk or saying bye to our gang. Next thing I recall is riding in the golf cart with “Just Bob” while he gave us tidbits about DVC. “Just Bob” was the bad cop in the play, quoting us a number far less than we would actually pay for our glorious 160 points at SSR. JB dropped walked us in to some chick who offered us cookies and drinks and sat us down to wait for OUR guide. I loved him already and I don’t even know his name.

As we waited I finally got the chance to ask Michael if he was serious about purchasing DVC. He said perhaps but I have questions……………..I jotted down the questions knowing that I would be the mouth piece for said venture and got more excited as the minutes passed……………..Finally my angel in a DVC polo walked in: Bob Shapiro. I heart me some Bob! We had “Just Bob” and then OUR guide Bob so see, it was meant to be. You can’t argue when there are two Bobs! Bwah ah ah!!!!

Bob walked in, introduced himself in that magical Disney way, and started his spiel. About 5 minutes into it I let Bob know that we were in WDW with our good friends who own DVC and we didn’t need to the whole touchy feely our-friends-care-for-us song and dance. Let’s get down to incentives, current available properties, and how many points our family will need.

Bob was able to adequately answer our questions in pure Disney fashion which made me happy. Little by little I saw Michael’s face soften into the man who wants to buy Disney and wants to buy it now!

The second Bob said “invisible loan” Michael stopped and him and asked how do we get this done?! I know I have been fainting a lot but you’d faint too if 10 days ago your DH was making fun of you for going to WDW again two years less than the last trip and the next thing you know you are buying DVC.

I think Bob was a happy as I was. Easiest sell EVER! Now onto where we want to buy: AKV, BLT, or SSR. I knew DH would say SSR, I just knew it. Having only stayed a day at AKV and as amazing as the SV was, we knew it was too dark for our liking, too dark to be our “home”. We looked at BLT but that too didn’t fit us at all. Other than the proximity to MK, which rocks, neither of us dug it. Plus I am the only one whose favorite park is MK. Losers! SSR was meant to be. The THV knock my socks off and after touring SSR, we were sold! The grounds are amazing, the golf course is right there, it’s very peaceful, and it’s NOT hotel style. Plus the THV, could you die or what they are so unbelievably cool! Not only did we get the resort we wanted but it was less expensive than the other two. Can you say meant to be? Well can you? Say it with me: meant to be!!!!

I text Jenna the minute Michael agreed and almost jumped out of my skin. On the way to the tour I text Keith too. Once Bob left Michael turned to me and said Happy Anniversary which is August 7th. I shoved my tongue down his throat and then I called Jenna and told her the news. I think she was as shocked as I was!!!!! We decided on 160 points with a December use year. Our contract was loaded and came with 2008’s points too! Hot dog!

After we signed, he gave us our 15 FPs and offered us ice cream. Who could eat at a time like this?! We said bye and I floated out of there. Our van driver said “Welcome Home” as he opened the doors for us and was the nicest man ever. We chatted with him and about his kids and wife. We got to the AKV and I ran to the Kidani pool, and broke the news to the kids. Holy Hannah! It was seriously more than I could handle. Too much joy if that’s possible. The kids were very excited too. Nate welcomed Michael to the club and it was good times.

We all went back to our villa, cleaned up, and headed to MK. I kept saying DVC all night long and I haven’t stopped. I must text Keith at least once a day with a simple message of DVC.

I have been planning like mad. We traded 2008's points for a week in Cabo next March and then we have started planning WDW for October 2010 too.

I hear ya. The banana doesn't do the moment justice. I still get so excited when telling the story!!!

Congrats again on DVC. I hope your DH realizes that it was a gift for all of us too, because now we get more TRs and pre-trippies!
