Hello! My husband's sister and mother live in Florida and want to "visit" us while we are there. Are they allowed into the resorts - for example, to have lunch at an on-site restaurant? Also, can anyone go to Downtown Disney and is there parking there? Just looking for ideas to meet up with them without them having to pay to get into a park. Thanks so much!

Visitors are welcomed to view the resorts and park there while visiting (they may be given a time limited parking pass at the resorts). Downtown Disney is free parking to anyone visiting (providing you can find an open space). Go and enjoy:thumbsup2

Yes, visitors can look around the resort and eat at the restaurants. However, they cannot go swimming in the pool. :)

One great place to go for lunch is at one of the Epcot resorts or one of the monorail resorts. There's plenty to see and do there without going to a park, because of having so many resorts in close proximity. DTD is another good choice, and you wouldn't have a time limit on their parking at DTD. Or you could meet them at DTD, do a little shopping, take Disney transport from there to one of the resorts for lunch, and then they could catch a bus back to DTD and you could go back to your resort on the Disney transport.

Or if they want to valet park for the day and not worry about time limits, they could do that.

Let the front desk know you will have day visitors. They may provide a parking pass for your guest so that a time limit will not be a problem. If by chance they want to swim, again just ask at the desk, it will probably not be a problem(but the desk will no better than any of us here). Disney is more than happy to have people come in and "check out" their resorts so you and your family should in no way feel as if they are intruding upon others by eating at a resort restaurant, even if no one is staying on property.
