Hi! I have relatives who have not yet made their reservations for July, and my 90 day mark is coming up soon. Should I do PS's for the 9 that will be eating together ( 5 adults 4 kids) if they come, or just the 4 that will be coming if they don't? Would it be easier to add more later, or to subtract when we show up?

I think it is much easier to subtract then to add more people at a later date.

We have often reduced the # for our PSs because one son gets tired and just wants to hang in the room and get room service. One of us stays with him and we usually just change the # at the podium since this is always a last minute thing.

In your case, with so many extra people I would just call and cancel as soon as you know. Hopefully, they will enjoy the fruits of your planning. :sunny:

Definately easier to subtract at the podium. Adding requires a new reservation, which may not be available when everyone makes up their minds where they want to go.

For a group that size, one person should take command. Get opinions but don't rely on the group voting for decisions. The "commander" should be the one with the most WDW (planning) experience.

My MIL and FIL will be coming with us and they had no clue about PS's (neither did I until I found this wonderful board) so what I did was just picked 3 out of the 8 days we will be there and made PS's for us all and I told them what days and what restaurant and they said OK....

I am a take charge kinda girl so NO was not an option...LOL

Be aware that any PS that are made for 8 or more will include an automatic 18% gratuity added to your check. If you find that they aren't going, change those PS ASAP, as large parties are becoming more the norm, and the seating for them is limited.

I was in your situation a couple of years ago. Made all of the plans for meals, with input from my husband's siblings. They never once showed for ANY OF THE MEALS! I was furious. Now if they are along, I only make PS for us and they can take care of themselves.

We are going in April with a group of 7 total (4 adults & 3 kids).

Everyone in our group "voted" & put me in charge of PS. Ok there was no real "vote", but everyone said "Lynn you know the most about Disney so you do it!"...LOL!

What I did was have everyone pick one or two resturants they really wanted to do. If there were more then one vote for a place, I deffinetly made a PS there.

Otherwise I just did my best to accomdate everyone's wants. But if I could not find a place to fit a certian resturant, we did not do it.

I made my PS's at the 90 day mark. After I finished them I sent everyone am email with what I had done. I told them all to "speak now or deal with what I have done".

I only made once change & that was because the other family decided they did want to do the Fantasmic Package with my family.

If there are so many people going, I think it is best to do what we did. Put someone in charge & you run with it. If anyone else wants to complain later, well you gave them their chance & they didn't say anything.

It is much easier to subtact people from a PS then it is to add. So make those PS's now & if people change their mind, call & change your party to a smaller size.

But as one of the pps said, change them as soon as you know. Because if you have a PS for a party of more the 8, you will get an automatic gratuity on your bill.
