Where can I find relatively plain pasta - I guess even plain buttered noodles as an entree in the world? My DH is running the marathon in January, and stated he needs pasta (high carbohydrates) for dinner the night before. Any ideas or experience???

Thanks for any insight.

When we went to Palio's (at the Swan) one of our party wanted plain pasta with marinara sauce (not on the menu). We just asked our waiter and there was no problem providing it. I would think that any of the italian restaurants on property would be able to make plain pasta with butter ( or olive oil and garlic) on request. Just ask!

Palio, which serves great italina food, is very good at making things "to order" -- we had a finicky 3-year-old and a "meat and potatoes" 93-year-old with us on our last trip and they were wonderful to both of them making things that didn't even slightly resemble menu items and both were very pleased! If you want to be in a park, Tony's in MK has great spaghetti and meatballs and I'm sure they'd make it with just butter or very light on the sauce if you asked.

While I don't want to back Alfredo di Roma in the Italy Pavilion -- I know many people love it -- we were not pleased there at all. The food wasn't that good and we were very disappointed in the service as well. That said, they have many pasta dishes and I'm sure they could adjust them to order as well.

Any place that has pasta on the menu can do it-- my dd went through a no sauce, just butter period about her pasta.

And I'm sure on the eve of the marathon, this will be a very popular special request.
