Reimbursement for dining plan

If I go ahead and book a dining plan for our trip next September and they end up offering free dining, will I be reimbursed for the cost of the plan? Thank you!

You'll have to cancel and rebook a room that qualifies for free dining. Frankly, there's no reaso. To add (and pay for) the dining plan more than 45 days in advance.

It is not as simple as reimbursing you. Your resort and room category and arrival date would have to be included in the free dining offer and there has to be availability. The number of rooms offered are limited so just having a package with a dining plan already included does not guarantee that you will qualify.

If you are planning to go only if free dining is offered, you canl wait until an offer is released. If you are going regardless of whether there is any special offer or not, you can book now to be certain you get your choice of resort and room category.

Though keep in mind that if you are going regardless of whether the free dining plan is offered and you decide to book now just in case, you would need to cancel your current reservation and re-book under the free dining plan as mentioned. This means that the deposit you put down now would need to be refunded which can take some time to get back to you. It would NOT transfer over to your new booking. So you would need to put down a new deposit on the new booking. So just keep that in mind when deciding.

If MDE is working on that particular day, you can click modify and select the new promotion (free dining). But that cancels your original booking and re-books you under the promotion. So it will still depend on whether there are rooms available under free dining. If you try to do it on the last day of the promo, there's a high probability you won't be able to get it because it will be all booked up.

I wouldn't pay off my package with dining before I saw what kind of discounts were coming BUT having dining plan on your package when you make ADRs will keep you from having to pre-pay CRT and HDDR

If you book a package, should free dining be announced for your dates, you would be able to add the free dining to your reservation IF the resort and room category you booked are available for free dining. If they are not, you would have to change the resort or category in order to get the promotion. Your package price would be adjusted accordingly. If you have excess balance remaining it would be refunded. Note that you may have to transfer to a more or less expensive resort or room category in order to get the free dining so you might have to take that into consideration also.
