Has anyone used Reid Resort Realty for a DVC resale? I have a contract here and I am not sure if I should go for it. Its for 200 BWV points for 14280. (plus closing and MF)

Thanks.

I'm curious to hear what type of responses you get.

We were ready to buy 150 OKW shares and emailed them with some questions; their website looked so great. I never heard back to two or three emails and a phone call. At the same time, the other brokers (Jaki, in particular) were working very hard to find me something and stayed in constant communication.

I was surprised at Reid's lack of communication with me,and wondered what might be happening with them. It was after the first hurricane so I thought that may have something to do with it.

I tried to buy through them.

They did not return emails or calls. I have no clue if they ever even gave the offer to the seller. All in all they struck me as pretty useless. (I would definetly NEVER list my resale with them)

I completed a resale purchased through Lee Reid. I'm not positive, but I believe that he runs his own part-time business ... so if you try to contact him while he is out of the office, you'll have problems.

Once I got my offer submitted, Lee was very helpful in completing my transaction -- and I got a great deal. (It was an add-on to my existing membership.)

Bottom line ... Lee is not as responsive as the other brokers, but if he's listing a property that really suits your needs, be persistent and patient and you'll eventually get it done. (Try calling his mobile phone number listed on the website.)

Good Luck.

I tried working with him, but he would NOT call me, as I requested many times in an email. When, I did email him the specifics of which contract I was interested in, he responded by saying that he "could not reach the seller, and didn't know when it would be possible to do so...sorry". I then emailed him and asked him about another contract, and he NEVER got back with me.

I think the seller he contacted had already sold the contract, and just decided to not get back to him. The contract was off his website within two days after my call. I don't know how this guy stays in business.

I tried to buy a DVC contract from this outfit a few years ago. Contact turnaround was slow, and I found what I was looking for with another broker. Sorry, it was not the board sponsor as they did not get back to me either.

Oh I forgot. I did hear from him once! He told me the contract was not exactly as advertised. (Points had been used) Since he told me that almost immediately my gut told me that he knew his lisiting was wrong.

Sorry, but if I am PAYING money I should not have to beat the broker for service. I just use the other two main brokers to board sponsor and the banned one (that I like best LOL!)

We used Lee Reid for our initial resale purchase and a subsequent add-on. He is very low key but gets the job done. He found what we wanted at an excellent price. It seems his best deals are not listed on his website. The process was smooth and painless. It was a very positive experience. I would definitely consider going through him again.

I was about to reply that $71.40 per point would never make it past ROFR and then I noticed this thread is nearly six years old! :rotfl:

Yep, I wondered why the person above you resurrected it. It must have taken a lot of searching to find this thread.

Actually I was doing a Google search to see what the current resale market is like. This DIS was listed near the top choices and so, out of curiosity, I had to read it since it addressed an agent we had used previously. Just goes to show you never know what will pop up with the wonders of Google. I eventually found what I was looking for. Used the Yahoo search engine instead.

I actually thought Lee Reid got out of the resale business in 2005, however, it appears I was wrong.

FYI: The Timeshare Store, Inc.® actually sold a 200 point Boardwalk Contract on 4/1/10 and it waived at $71 per point on 4/27/10.

Thanks,
Jason

Great price for the buyer... not so great for the seller! We have a BWV contract submitted for ROFR right now. With the prices that seem to be passing, I am hopeful ours will pass quickly, especially since the price we are paying is much higher than $71.

As a BWV owner, this is not good news!

I found my contact information and got a hold of Lee this morning. Yes, he's still in the timeshare business and yes he is out of the DVC resales.
