Rehersal Dinner Costs??

Does anyone know how expensive it is to host a rehersal dinner? I have 26 in my bridal party plus parents/grandparents. Who is usually responsible for hosting this event?

traditionally, the parents of the groom are responsible for the rehearsal dinner. the prices of rehearsal dinners vary depending on what you want to do and where you wanna do it.

Lots of people have rehearsal dinners at Ohana. They charge about $27 per person, and you can use the Disney Dining Experience card to get 20 % off for up to 10 people (gratuity will be automatically included).

People like Ohana because the atmosphere is festive and there are games for the kids. We were going to do our rehearsal dinner here, until we found out that it wouldn't count for the minimums on our wedding.

Yes, keep in mind rehearsal and welcome dinners will not count towards your minimum. Only the events on your wedding DAY will count.

We are doing an Illuminations Dinner/Dessert Party for our Rehearsal/Welcome party..

Since we are doing something special we are offering to pay for it and not my DF's family == unless they want..

We thought about Ohana's but once I was told we could do dinner and dessert at Illumination had to go with that!!

Thank you for your posts. My DF's family hasn't said anything about it yet, and my DF doesn't think we need to do one. I really think it would be weird to just say "see ya tomorrow" after the rehersal. I read somewhere that if you have a destination wedding you need to invite all your guests to the rehersal dinner. Is this what people are doing?

We are planning on 'Ohana but we are torn between inviting the wedding party and immediate family or the whole invitation list. As of now we are thinking of the wedding party (with their guests) and our immediate family. As we will be eating early, we are planning on sending out very casual invites for everyone to join us at Port Orleans French Quarter in their Kit Cat Club to listen to Elliott Dyson after our dinner. This way those at dinner can join us and all extra guests can just meet us there. We always head to PRFQ at least once during our trip to listen to him play. The club is right off the lobby and there is seating both there and in the bar directly behind it. It is also right next to their food court so if anyone gets hungry they can get something to eat. He is a great performer and he really gets everyone into the act. I think everyone will have alot of fun doing this.

Bit off topic but our magic kingdom shoot is counting towards our min and we are having that 2 days later

You're right. I believe the MK photo shoot is the only exception to the rule as it is not always possible to have the MK shoot on the same as your wedding day. For example, its not your fault if you wanted it done the morning of your wedding and another bride already had that one time slot booked. I think that is the only thing not done on your wedding day that will count towards your minimum.

We are having ours two days later but I didn't think it counted towards the min. I will have to ask that question!

That is correct - I have been assured by 3 different people (at DFTW and Disney Photographic Services) that the MK shoot is the only thing that does count toward your minimum even if you do it on a different day.

We're doing our rehearsal dinner at a restaurant at the Swan hotel, FRESH, and we're paying $23.00 per person including beverages plus we get a private room
