DF and I are getting married at Disney in just about 2 months, and we still haven't planned our rehearsal dinner yet. We'll have about 50-60 people there, and we want to keep it casual and not too too expensive. Any ideas/suggestions?

We are thinking of a cookout vibe on the beach at beach/yacht club. Haven't gotten pricing yet. Hoping with wine/beer and no hard alcohol the price might be reasonable?

We are going to do splitsville as the welcome party/rehersal dinner. This way our guests can bowl together and get to know each other.

I went to Splitsville during my last trip (sadly it wasn't open for my wedding) and its a blast! We had so much fun bowling! And the food is actually really good!

Good to hear! We keep hearing wonderful things and we think our guests will really enjoy it. I'm going to go look at it and decide for sure in october. I'm hoping we can arrange for a group/party deal with catering. I feel like this venue is fun and will encourage people to mingle. I also feel like we're providing a super formal dinner the night before with no dancing at Epcot. The bowling makes up for that, and the food should be a little more affordable and fun. This way we get the best of both worlds with our guests. Plus it keeps all the runners moving after their runs from that morning and the morning before.

We are trying to peg down a rehearsal dinner as well. DF's parents are paying for that we don't want them to spend a fortune. We are 30-35 people, any suggestions would be great!

We are having a Fajita Bar for about $23/person. We are not having any alcohol since we are having champagne and Grey Goose Slushies are our DP immediately after the RD. The menu consists of:
Salad
Chicken / Taco Meat
Fixings (lettuce, tomatoes, etc)
Hard /Soft Shells
Tres Leches Cake (which happens to be my favorite) - I originally said no dessert b/c we have the DP right after, but taking it out would not have affected our price.

We wanted something different, no pasta or steak and potatoes. I don't even know if everyone likes fajitas but I figure those who have dietary issues will be ok with this type of meal.

I will post pics and let you know how it was when we get back from our wedding in 14 days!!!!

By the looks of it, the Chip & Dale Rehearsal Dinner menu doesn't look that expensive :thumbsup2

Here's the menu:

“Chip and Dale” Rehearsal Dinner Buffet
Sweet Cream Coleslaw
Corn on the Cob with Butter
Brown Sugar Baked Beans
Steamed Hot Dogs
Cooked-to-order and served from the Grill (outdoor venue only):
Hamburgers
Barbeque Chicken
Rolls, Cheddar and Swiss Cheeses, Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Pickles, Relish,
Sauerkraut, Ketchup, Mayonnaise, and Mustard
Assorted Ice Cream Novelties
Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, and Selection of Hot Teas
$38++

And I'm sure you could knock some stuff off that to make it cheaper. If you hold it at a resort instead of a theme park, the price wouldn't be the earth. You could do BOC or cash bar to keep costs down :thumbsup2

Hi,
I'm having a really hard time finding a place to have my rehearsal dinner, too. rphelps27, where did you get a fajita bar option for that price? The cheapest option I have been given by the wedding planners is $56.00, which for 60-80 people is a bit more than I want to spend. I looked into bowling but that was really pricey for that many people.

Actually the least expensive option was The "Chip and Dale Rehearsal Dinner Buffet" and is now listed as $49.00 per guest and is subject to $21% Service Charge and 6.5% sales tax.

You don't have to go with the set menus they send you—everything's completely customizable. Which means you can take the Chip & Dale menu and cut stuff until they get it to a price you like, or you can tell them "I want to serve X, Y & Z—how much will that cost?" or you can ask, "What kind of meal can I get for $35/person?" and see what the chefs suggest. :thumbsup2

I saw another bride on here had a fajita bar for her cocktail hour and I asked my WP about it and that's the price I got back. This does not include alcohol b/c at the time we weren't sure we wanted any since we are having the DP after with Champagne and Grey Goose Slushies. I think we are now going to add in wine only. I would ask your WP about a fajita bar and the costs. We are only have 24 adults and 4 children there. That might have something to do with it. Good Luck!
