Rehearsal Dinner Venues?

As I am now on a tighter budget, we won't be paying for everyone at our rehearsal dinner. Everyone is happy to pay their own way, thank goodness. Anyway, we wanted to have our dinner at Shula's steak house, but with the number of people (22) they will only put us in one of their private rooms, which means we have a minimum to reach, and have to order off a special group menu, and I just don't think we will be able to reach the minimum. Plus, I don't really want to invite people and have to say "you gotta spend at least $100"!
I was just wondering if anyone knew of a venue we could have it that I can just book a regular table in the restaurant and order off the normal menu? :) I really like California Grill, do you think we will be able to do this there?

The California Grill is a beautiful place but I think your guests will still be spending a lot of money. I know Dh and I have never left with a bill under $200.00. Usually we each have an appetizer and entree and sometimes we share a dessert and a few drinks each. I don't know your guests but they could still spend about $100 depending on what they ordered.

Have you looked at the menus section on allears?

How about something like Ohana where there is a preset cost so guests know what to expect ahead of time. They can also eat all they want without the cost changing. I have heard of many brides doing this and having a great time.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney and it was a lot of fun. We were in a semi private room off the main room and we did not have to order off of a catering menu, I just let my guests choose what they wanted.

HTH, there are a lot of options.

Thanks :thumbsup2 I just looked at allears, and I think Raglan Road sounds good! Is it included in the places that I can't make reservations yet? I think maybe Cali Grill is maybe a place for just me and DF to go, I really want to go though, it looks really nice.

You can call them now and ask to speak to Lorraine, she is in charge of private parties. The phone number is 1(407)938-0300. I think California Grill would be a very romantic place for just you and your DF. Let me know if you have other questions.
