Rehearsal Dinner Suggestions

Just wondering what you all think we should do for our rehearsal??? We were gonna do a beach party kind of thing or luau over at the Summerhouse/Marina at GF(which I was really excited about ) but now funds are looking very tight and i was thinking about maybe Ohanas or the Spirit of Aloha. Any suggestions or ideas thanks guys

We had ours at Raglan Road. After we had dinner we had the rest of our guest join us for a welcome party. They had a whole section blocked off for us. It was a room off to the side...next to the bar. We could see the Irish dancers and hear the music. It was a blast.

Thats what i am thinking. The thing is The Spirit of Aloha would be fun and includes beer and wine, but i have been there before and i dont remember the food being great I just was looking for something different and fun like that Now, Ohanas is also fun and you can see the fireworks, and is less money, but i love the idea of the luau i hate making decisions I guess my thing is that i really wanted that party at the marina on the beach with tropical music watching the fireworks can u tell i cant stop thinkin about it

OOOO FUN!!!!!!! My side is Irish too so that would be fun was there a set price per person or did you have to pay everything al la carte I guess what i am asking is did they give you some sort of package for everyone with a set menu or did everyone just get what they wanted. thanks

They told us to pick out three main dishes and then they printed out special menus for our guest. Many of them kept them as souvineers ( I can't spell). I can't remember how much it all was. I know it was a lot cheaper then we had expected. It was a nice surprise when we went to pay for it.

My husband set it all up but I think you could just call them and talk to the manager. My husband just googled "Raglan Road Pub Walt Disney World" to find the phone #.

You could make Ohana's a bit of a luau, by bringing in leis (oriental trading company has them pretty cheap) and they have the hula for the kids and adventurous adults. You could give your guests luau invitations and buy little luau favors for each guest to put on the table (like $2 a favor could be budget wise). Finally, you get a custom cake from GF bakery (around $50-100) that is luau themed (Lilo & Stitch or a volcano, or something like that). Just some suggestions.

Did you get a quote for your party? It might not be as expensive as you think!

Can someone post the price and minimum pp number for Gf summerhouse, Ohanas, etc? I think a lot of people seem to be having the same problem. I just don't know if its worth it with the cost of everything else to have a fancy rehearsal dinner. Although I would love to! Can anyone share an experience with the GF summerhouse? Right now Raglan Road and Ohana are sounding fun! Thanks!

Well Ohanas you would just pay the set price pp which is close to $30 per person I am not sure of the exact price, but it is a set menu for everyone and is basically a TON of food served family style, and its all you care to eat. And you are right I would love to have this really different rehearsal kind of beach party thing but i am sure the price will be too much and with the cost of everything i just dont think we will have the money!! We had our Rehersal Dinner at Ohanas. We bought some leis off of Ebay, so everybody had one, and Joe and I dressed in "hawaiian themed" clothes. We had a blast...they singled our group out, and pulled Joe and I into the center of the room for a dance, and we also got to hold the limbo stick for the little kids when they did the limbo. Most of our group got up and did the Hula in the middle of the room with the kids....it was a blast!

AAWWW That sounds like it was so much fun!!! I was researching different restaurants all day and it would def be the nicest place for the price and would allow us to use our Dining Experience card and get the xtra 20% off The problem is DF is having a problem with it he doesnt care for the food there We were just there in early Feb and the menu has changed a little but over all i think its a great atmosphere i think i am gonna have to work my woman powers to make him see the light I love it there esp the atmosphere and entertainment and view of the castle etc Wish me luck with convincing him

We had originally planned on Ohana's, but when we went for our planning session in Sept, we ate there and none of us liked it at all. We are now doing our dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe. The food is reasonably priced and the menu is simple enough that everyone will find something they like. We didn't want all the characters and hoopla, just a little time to spend with the immediate families before the big day and all the craziness.

Great suggestions! And I say that because it's EXACTLY what we did...invites, leis, cake, and all. And to this day our guests still talk about that night. We had an absolute blast!!!
