Disney does not withhold information to tick off guests. I am sure they release it as soon as they have everything planned out. They would rather give information a little later than information that is incorrect.

I do not want to come off as if DLR can do no wrong. DLR is not WDW. Why can't WDW post their secondary entertainment schedules in advance? DLR does it 4-6 weeks ahead of time. They do things differently.(little vent)
I just don't understand why they can't ge there act together?
WDW sets up the rehabs 6mo. In advance.. Why can't DL do the same?
If they know Indy needs a big over haul, put it on the books and let us all know about it.. Don't wait until 3 week before our trip and then close the ride..
Now I can understand if a ride has to be closed immediately, due to safety issues.. It's happened before to us at WDW. But it's RARE..
They don't delay as late a possible and then tell everyone at a point that no one can change their plans..
PS.. Still no word on the phone or on the website about Indy going down...![]()
Girimama33 said:That's one of our family favorites. I am so happy it is not on the list. We are already missing out on IASW for the holiday overlay.
IASW closes to add the holiday overlay and then reopens for Christmas in November and the closes again in January to remove it. So it closes twice. Which closer are you talking about?Have any dates been released for when IASW will reopen? Shattered that we are missing Casey and storybook canal, would hate to miss IASW too as that's half the reason for the trip from Australia! And I'm very confused, is BTRR open or closed? Thanks : )

One of the reasons WDW posts refurbs further in advance is they cater more to vacationers from far away who often make their plans to visit WDW 6-12 months in advance. DLR caters more to locals and those making longer trips can be planned a month or two in advance.
Generally the big refurbs do leak out 3-6 months in advance. And often the leaks turns out to be true but not always.
I suspect DLR has not announced an Indy refurb because:
a. they are not planning a refurb in September
b. they are planning a refurb but are not sure when they want to do it - they are prioritizing it in conjunction with other projects at DLR as far as manpower, budget and trying to coordinate so not too many things go down at once if posssible
c. they know they will start the refurb soon but have not worked out details and do not want to announce it until they do
Again, I cannot imagine they sit around knowing a refurb is starting in September and knowing all the details but just not announcing it because they are lazy. There would be multiple things they are trying to balance out.
Is it frustrating for guests? It can be - especially for those going in offseason who are more likely to be affected.

Summer is the most untouchable season for refurbs at DLR. The only refurbs that will impact summer are those that last 6+ months. Usually. The rumored BTMRR refurb is rumored at 18 months so it would impact all seasons including summer. Please calm my fears! Will July 2013 be safe from major rehabs? We are WDW vets so there can rehabs at anytime even in the summer. Are rehabs at DL more during the off season because DL has more of an off season than WDW?
.....There is a rumor BTMRR will go down for a long refurb sometime this fall (Sept/October). But it is a rumor. No Disney announcements.
Cafe Orleans will reopen on September 20th, according to Disney email I received.
