Quick Question --
Does anyone know what's being done?
I know that some of the sites are going to be premium (cable tv, internet, electricity, water) and that means larger for slideouts --
are any of the roads or loops being enlarged? As in the part that you drive on to park your RV? DH is concerned that when we finally get something that we can bring to the Fort and stay in for an extended period, he won't be able to get it on a site very well due to the narrowness of the loops.
Hope I phrased this well enough,
Tx

Does anyone know when construction will begin? I read that they are putting in a hot tub?:confused3 If this is true, I hope it's there in Jan or Feb when we take our trip......................

So far no reports of anything being done by people who are just back.

There are tons of rumors but no hard facts yet. FWIW, I'm need rehab! :drinking1 :dance3:

I'm curious about this too. We will be there in Oct for GG. We love the 1700 loop, but if it is changed that will no longer be a pet loop. Just don't know what she would request.

they are putting up those lights because i heard from a cm while i was there that they are thinking of moving the golf cart rental headqtrs to the front desk for easier check ins and outs

My DH and I were set to stay in the cabins at the end of the month for the very first time. We got a call today stating they will be refurbing lots of the cabins and wanted to move us to SSR 2BR for the same price. My DH was concerned about the noise and atmosphere, but didn't want to go to SSR (theres just the 2 of us, a 2BR is so big). I asked for additional options and was given OKW studio, AKV studio and VWL 1BR, and we took the VWL 1BR. We were really looking forward to hangin' in the cabin but I guess it is not to be this time. :confused3

Yea, there was a work permit filed with Orange County about a month ago for putting lights up on the main road, I've seen a couple pictures of it, so I guess they should be done soon.

I haven't heard too much about anything else rather than the regular clearing and expanding of loops, along with adding some features (like TV, etc...) to some of the sites.

Someone else posted on the resort board they were called to be moved from a cabin, arriving 7/21, to a SSR resort 2 bedroom.

I'm also arriving shortly in a cabin as well, and would be mighty upset if they wanted to move me.

Had I wanted a SSR, or any other property, I would have booked and paid for it. This year we decided to try spending time at the Fort.

I wonder if the call people in reverse order of booking. I've had this reservation for a while, and revised it when the APs came out. I'll bet they got a lot of business due to the big discount, which is almost 40% for me, and now need to do some work.

I seem to recall reading they were going to replace the doors on the cabins.

We're staying in a cabin 7/20-7/30 and nobody called to change us. Does anybody know what kind of construction they will be doing? Will it be noisy? Will the comfort station and pool are still be open by the cabins?

We have cabin reservations for the 23rd thru the 31st. We got a call to switch as well. You don't have to switch. I declined the offer. SSR is just to far and to noisy for us. Also not quite as kid friendly. Even though my "kids" are teenagers. The only one I would switch to would be a Wilderness Lodge villa and that wasn't an option and was told that wasn't available. The space would have been nice. But we like the Fort.

for anyone who got the call and have caller id what was the number that comes over it? we will be there in sept and are curious as to what will be done and if we will get a call, my dh is not going to be happy and he said we will decline he is hooked on the fort now this is the only place he will stay:lmao: :lmao: thanks for any info :goodvibes

We are to check into the cabins Thursday (36 hours from now:goodvibes ), and I called tonight to see if I could request a cabin close to pool. They transferred me about 3 times, all very nice CM's, but I could tell something was going on. The last one must have been a manager and told me there would be a possibility that they would be moving us. I asked if we could move to Saratoga since we are DVC members. She told me couldn't really tell me for sure until we got there, but She suggested I call DVC to see if they could help. I really do mind moving, if they move us to larger space, but I want to know before hand and not be moved after one day, which is what it sounded like. First thing tomorrow I am calling to hopefully know where we will be staying. There must be some major refurbishing going on. I will report back as soon as I know more. :goodvibes

Not sure about the Cabins. We did notice quite a few seemed to be empty last week. We were in 1000 loop. Had the 2000 loop right behind us. It was closed. Work was being done on the pads, pulling up old pavement, then coming behind and appeared to be setting forms for new.

So they are doing work on the loops. That is great!!!!!!!

I was afraid they were going to cancel the renovations.
