Those are the salute your way tickets. You can buy other tickets at the MWR office that are not nearly as a fantastic deal but pretty decent. Google the MWr offices tickets as some offer different ones at different prices. But to make sure you don’t get confused I’m going to be redundant and repeat what was stated above the salute your way tickets (they have 4 day and 5 day) are what is posted in the above link and you will NOT be eligible to use those.is he husband retired, or just a veteran? You must be retired or active duty, not simply a veteran, to buy military tickets. Also, you can’t use them, as the service member Or spouse must activate them at the parks. Unless he goes with you, you are out of luck.

Regular MWR tickets can be purchased and used by anyone once they are purchase by the Military party. The guy is retired. Yes, the other type of ticket I know the salute can only be used with the person going along. I just wasn’t totally sure about the regular ticket.
One of my co-workers offered to purchase me tickets since her husband used to be in the military. I just wanted to make sure I could use them before I accept her offer since online I see mixed answers. Thank you.

Okay thanks I’ll compare prices. The military discount for the magic your way tickets is about 5%. Depending on when you are going it may be about the same or even cheaper to use undercover tourist. You can find the cost for tickets with the military discount on the Shades of Green website. I’ve heard that tickets at military bases could be priced differently ( more expensive) as well as need to be ordered in advance.
Idk for sure if the member of the military/spouse needs to be with you to use these tickets. From what I’ve seen the answer is no. (But yes for salute.) I have also seen that the discounts are for the member of the military/spouse and family and friends. I was trying to find this out as well since my son is in the military but has no interest in Disney. (I really don’t know how I failed there!!) That’s when I compared prices with undercover tourist and found out the pricing was similar.
Just my opinion here, but, I don't think it's right that the military tickets are only for Retired or Disabled Veterans. I know ones that have served their time with the military and were ready to fight for their country at the drop of a hat, but they don't receive this benefit. Just not right in my opinion.
Honestly, If we were not military (and I had to get someone to get them for us), I would not fuss with it. I am still unsure on what the expiration date will be on the ones we purchase this month (I plan on going on base this month to get them). Whether you purchase them on base or through Shades of Green, you will have to pay a fedex amount to have them mailed to the service member. I would just buy them from Undercover tourist. The military price basically saves you from tax but you still pay for Fedex too.
The salute tickets were opened up to DoD at our base. It just said you need to show ID when redeeming them at the gate. I thought I was seeing things but I checked and they truly were available to DoD. So if you are DoD you might be able to use the salute tickets.
