Registration Question - ChampionChip

I am new to running and need some help. My DD's and I are planning on registering to run in the 2007 Minnie Marathon. I just printed out the registration form and thier is a spot for what I am guessing is a number for "ChampionChip." What exactly is this, do I need this, can I race without it, or how do I obtain it?

The Champion Chip is used to time you during the race. Some people have their own, but most just use the one provided by the race staff. You'll get one in your race packet that you put on your shoe before the race. After the race, volunteers are at the finish to snip it off your shoe.

If you have your own Champion Chip, you put the number on the race registration so that Disney can identify you and your race time.

And by all means, don't forget to put your chip on your shoe before the race! Though I can't imagine anyone that would do such a thing
