We use a small nearby regional airport to get to Pittsburgh, BWI, etc. It is used mostly by commuter aircraft, private small planes and corporate lear jets, etc. They have one small security gate with metal detector and belt for carryon luggage. I've seen numerous posts about hand checking luggage, particularly carry-on. Has anyone experienced that in the small airports? There's hardly room to turn around, much less open and search luggage! Also, their check-in counter is quite limited in space. No luggage to my knowledge had ever been opened or searched. Maybe we should make a dry run and see what's happening. Thanks for any input!
