Regarding the progress on castle?

To whom ever as been recently (1-2 weeks). How is the castle coming along? Are they doing a lot of work on it. Do you think they will be done by Oct 1?

We just returned on Saturday and the castle is now bare from the Happiest Celebration Decorations and they now have a huge crane there painting the turrets (sp?) blue and the top one gold. Last week they already had 3 turrets painted, so I think there might be a good chance that the crane will be down. They remove the crane for the Fireworks anyway so not all is lost.

Unfortunately, all our family pictures down main street have a big crane in the background. Oh well. It's still the most magical place on earth! Have a great time.

They had the crane down for MNSSHP on Friday night - it looked really nice (but a little nekkid - I am so used to seeing it with it's BLING!)

As of yesterday morning, the crane was still there. The mirror is gone.

The pic I posted was from Friday afternoon!

I believe is up part of the day, but not visible all day long. It will probably be around for awhile. We don't get there during week days this time of year as DD is in school.

The Castle looks beautiful. The crane was down early am, but we did see it up one morning.

Here is what the castle looks like now. They are painting the turrets. The crane is supposed to be there until December. When it is down you can't hardly see it unless you are looking for it.

Here is a picture of the castle Friday morning, Sept. 22nd. The crane stayed up until late afternoon and then it was lowered. It is quite an eyesore during the day but after it is lowered you can't see it at all from Main Street. Up close you can really see the difference in color on the parts of the castle that have been painted compared to the parts that haven't been painted yet. The lower spires look very faded compared to the newly painted brilliant blue top towers. You can really tell how great it will look when they are finished!

I'm a more is more kinda girl but leave the castle nekkid. Painting the towers gold makes it look like a gothic cathedral.

Having just been in MK on 9/25, all the 'bling' is off. They are painting the spires dark ocean blue.

The crane hovers over the castle in the morning though, then they take it down at noon.

I'm here now, and the crane is a major bummer. They do lower it sometime in the late afternoon, but it is huge! There have been workers painting away, but they don't seem to be getting very far very fast. I can't imagine it will be done by Sunday, but ya never know...

The crane was not there during MNSSHP last Friday (well, it was there, but folded up behind the castle) -- thank goodness for that!

Hope it's done by the time you get here!

Wow - you can really see the difference on the newly painted parts. Thanks everyone for the pics and updates. I like the "bling" too, but it's nice to have the old castle back.
