I am looking for any advise anyone might offer...

My husband has been ill since the beginning of the year. We have really been struggling under all the medical bills we have. I suggested we cancel our planned Disney trip in December due to our finances. We would lose money on the plane tickets, etc so dh still wants to try to go. Honestly, I think he really wants to take this trip with the kids after all that has gone on this year.

So, I am trying to find ways to help pay the balance due on our trip. I have been collecting Disney pins to start the kids on pin trading - buying them mostly online from Disney shopping. They are assorted characters I thought the kids would like.

I thought maybe I could try to sell them. The kids don't know anything about them, so they won't miss them. I saw a link about DIS auctions here, however the link doesn't work and I can't find it on the website. Is it still in existence?

Can anyone offer any advice on selling these pins? Yesterday I pulled them out and tried to look them up on PinPics. I found almost all of them. Most are LE (mostly 1000, but some lower numbers too). They are all new, still on the cards and in the foam envelopes.

I realize I cannot sell them thru this board, I am looking for a little guidance on where best to sell them and was hoping someone might help me locate the DIS auction boards mentioned in the sticky post above.

Thank you,
Carol

Your best bet would be ebay. With any auction site you take a gamble but you would have the largest audience there. I have sold pins there with mixed success. Sometimes you never know what will sell well and what won't. You can either sell them all in one large lot or sell them individually. Be careful about setting your opening bid too high or people won't be motivated to bid but don't start too low if it is a pin you can't bear to let go of below a certain price. It also helps to have positive feedback from past ebay transactions.

Good luck to you and it sounds like you all deserve this trip. :wave2:

You might wantto try Yahoo Auctions. YA is free. You really have nothing to lose but time if they don't sell there. And if you have no luck on YA, then go to Ebay. Or the Dizpins.com Sale Board might be where you could sell them. No selling fees there either.
Good luck! :wave2:

Thank you both for replying. I will look into all 3 sites you mentioned. Years ago I sold an item or two on eBay, however my feedback (100%) is generally as a buyer. Hopefully being a good buyer myself would help someone to feel more confident in purchasing from me?

Thank you, again.

Dizpins.com has a sale board...a lot of folks sell there and you've got a captive audience. You just list your pins, with pinpics id and pin name, your price and your shipping preferences. As long as you can accept paypal, it's pretty easy.

And not Ebay fees.

Thank you for replying, Patty. I did find the DizPins Sale board. I am going to try to find some time to check out selling prices on there because right now I have no idea at all what to price them at.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond. I think I will try to start there as I won't have the fees, need to take pics, etc..

You all are great!

Carol
