? regarding rates on Columbus Day weekend

SO, I currently have the Poly booked for a stay from 10/5-10/11 and we are hoping for some sort of a discount, be it free dining, or a % off deal. I know that there is a current promotion ending soon, so I will keep my eyes and ears open. I have a Disney Visa card, too, so hopefully there will be something for the time we are down there.

My question, for anyone in the know, is this.... We will be staying over the Columbus Day weekend holiday. I know that the rates are higher on the weekends, but is Columbus Day weekend a weekend that they typically don't offer deals on or that they have black out days on?

ETA- after reading some other posts regarding booking and hoping for a discount... we are going (airfare already booked and paid for!) whether we get a discount or not, I was just hoping to get a discount- who wouldn't want to spend less than they have too? They only way I would get the DDP is if it is free, because I don't think it is quite the bargain it used to be and we have had issues with it the last trip down. And if there was a 35% of deal, sign me up!!!

Hard to say... Based on the PINs and BB offers that came out, FD was only good until 9/29 arrivals.

For your timeframe, chances are (if any) that offers won't come out until Mid-August.

We have the 20/30/40 year long PIN. We wanted to book starting Oct. 9, but there was a blackout for the 9th and the 10th, so we pushed it up to the 11th.

The CM said that to arrive on the 9th that we would have to make two ressies..the first one be a room only with no discounts for the 1st two days. We would have had to check in /check out, buy an extra 1 day ticket in order to add ddp to those first two days and all that jazz, so we are arriving on the 11th to simplify things!

So, for our PIN code..Columbus day weekend was a no-go, even though that is really when we wanted/needed to go. Oh well! HTH
